Nah. Still hate him.

Ha! Me too, but like I said a little less. Later in interview he was gushing about how much of a cushion our defense gave their receivers. Basically said it made running the offense a lot easier than expected..

I just can't imagine him coming back. he's going to be second round at least. now maybe he gets a chance to move into the first round, and that is big money, if he stays.

or maybe he just likes being the starting quarterback. God knows he's not guaranteed anything in the NFL and after waiting so long maybe he wants to savor it.

Obviously if he stays I'm sure EJ goes.

I would be surprised no doubt. No doubt EJ leaves in that scenario.

Trask should take the money. He deserves to get his payday for his loyalty to the Gators. his hard work and patience. He has had the cards fall for him for the first time in his life and he should take full advantage of it whether he ever starts a game at the next level.

Next to our inability to tackle I think that cushion we allow has been the most frustrating thing about our defense....and that turns out to be what they game planned.

And Brian Johnson should be given a lot of credit for this.

The only plays this year that were credit to Mullen are the ones Emory Jones ran, and the Trask dives up the middle on 2nd and long. THOSE are Mullen plays, and he's itching to get back to them full time.

Mullen's dream is to run a dive play 50 times in a single game; he's expressed that starry-eyed fantasy in multiple interviews over the years. In one particular one, Mullen's hips gave a sudden twitch when he was talking about it and his eyes rolled back a little; the interviewer was noticeably uncomfortable.

If Brian Johnson was smart, he'd do what Joe Brady did - flee now while his stock is hot. Trask is leaving and the vertical offense is going with him.

I agree. It’s also cool how he wasn’t even here in 2018 but guided Franks to his best season, with 24 TDs, and the best overall Gator QB season since Tebow. With a RSSoph project. You just don’t see guys with that type of cross influence very often. Needs to cash in.

As I said in the chat, it’s so odd because he’s actually handled clock management really well this year, particularly at the end of halves. I guess his logic was we’re not playing for a tie, and with our defense, I guess that has some merit. But it forced the onside kick instead of a traditional. Either way, we’re probably staring at Harris for 3 plays. With 2 TOs, we get the ball back at our own 30-40 with a minute or so left. But it would be just to tie things. I guess he wanted to win. It makes some sense and could’ve been genius, but I think you have to conventional thinking there. He overthought it, imo.

No, that’s not correct. He could have saved the timeout by kicking the extra point to leave us down by 7 & gone for 2 and the win had we scored again.

The bottom line is having the 2nd timeout and getting the ball back with more time was more important than the strategic advantages of converting the 2 point attempt to put us down by 6.

A nightmare for Mullen is Trask wanting to return. How do you shove a guy out the door without making it look that way?

Mullen has guys waiting in the wings that are better at the dive play.

Defense gives up 1200 yards and 89 points in two games.

Jesus and Mary Chain that is absolute ****.

The end of the year is where teams show maturity and development.

our defense did the opposite.

**** Todd Grantham.

THIS. This is all that needs to be said, really. At this point, there is only one option for Dan to run (pun intended): Grantham MUST go. Even with a championship caliber offense, this team had no shot to win it all due to Grantham. Period. If Dan does not fire him, he will never be a champion of any sort.

Yeah, I get that and agreed with la. It was puzzling and unnecessary. Think we can all agree that’s what we should’ve done. I’m just saying he clearly had a vision of being able to win in regulation. I can kind of get it, even if I disagree with the way he went about it. As I said, several moments last night he showed his lack of experience in these settings.
