I'm sure it's worse yards per game.

they kind of stopped mentioning it but we were in the worst in recorded history, back to 1903 or whatever it was, in the first four games. apparently the game announcers were told not to mention it anymore.
Those last 2 games were just icing in the cake. 4 games worth of yards and points against any decent defense.

LSU announces Bo Pelini out after 1 season. We should take note

Bro, you ever been around UF and a lot of the pumpers? Any coach needs at least 4 years unless they follow Spurrier or lie about death threats (even before that people including Crucial, Fooley, Carbozo, Del La Torre, Steve Russell and more were for a 4th year for him and Nuss and defending a 110+ ranked offense).

The entire defensive staff needs to follow 3rd & Grantham out the door. They are as much to blame as 3rd & Grantham. They cannot teach the player's their assignments and their recruiting sucks.

Count me as one that believes coaches should be given a chance. I believe that it takes about 3 yrs for that to happen.

However, I NEVER wanted fat head Todd as a DC to begin with and so my patience for him has always been thin. Luckily, we're at his 3 yr mark and he should be shown the door immediately after the bowl game.

I also think it will happen because CDM sees his flaws too.

Considering Gray's prior success, I have a difficult time believing he should be lumped in with todd exotic. I could be wrong, but... oh wait, I never am.

Sorry, you're wrong. If Gray is a good CB coach why do Marco and the other CB's not know their assignments? I think the whole issue is 3rd & Grantham's defensive scheme is too complicated for the players but, if the coaches can't simplify the scheme and coach it then they are at fault too.

Bc they are lining up and waiting for Grantham to make up his damn mind and send in the play this is actually been covered in press conferences.

he has been bad but it looks more like the safety play has influenced them.

also once your confidence is gone, it is over. I think we're seeing that too.

So, you think a position coach can override the decision of the DC? I cant just tell the CO I'm gonna do my own thing because I'm smarter and my plan is better.

I think Itraz mentioned Wilson is failing largely due to the fact that his skillset doesn't mesh with tg's scheme. That's on tg for failure to adapt.

Gray has sent plenty of DBs to the pros. Maybe this has been a challenge that exposes his weaknesses as a coach, but he would probably do just fine if he worked with a real DC again.

No, I don't think a position coach can override a DC but, he can coach his position to understand their assignments in the defensive scheme. That is what is missing.

You just put to words what I’ve been thinking all year. Now, don’t get me wrong, Marco sucks as well as Stiner et al, but how many times have we seen our more serviceable defenders look completely lost and miss on some of the most basic techniques I.e. poor tackling and bad leverage.
Burney looks uncomfortable as hell and we all know why, but even still you would expect him to make a few more “gimme” plays given some of these weak assed SEC east offenses. That’s just one example. Same could be said for most of our D.
You can’t be great without being confident. Just doesn’t work.

This is exactly what I thought while at the LSU game and watching just Marco on and between every play in the third and fourth quarter... You could see the lack of confidence in his body language. You could also see him looking at the sideline constantly with the "what are we doing?" look.

I say we get rid of the entire defensive coaching staff EXCEPT Turner.

Yeah. Even Gray. The guy can recruit. But I haven’t been impressed with our DB play over the last 2 years. And we’ve really regressed this year.

I forget his name here.

He said he was a vet and sometimes off his meds. Got into it with Deet in the box.

Goes NUTS over basketball.
