You really think it's going to stay that way with Trask, Pitts, and Toney all leaving?

Opposing coaches aren't going to be very scared next year.
Exactly. Welcome back to option, option, screen pass, option, and 20-17 or 17-20 games.

Unless the SEC East gets rid of the Muschump clones and we lose big instead.

That article is a must-read. It's really a miracle this UF team was able to keep it close with the mountain of gaffes on both sides of the ball. The other team simply having more talent is one thing; it's the stuff the coaches can control that pisses you off, like bad play calling and horrendous clock management.

Trying to think where I have heard or seen this before? Oh yeah, it was in the email I sent to Stricknine the minute I heard Cousin Eddie was being hired and the reasons why he was the wrong and lazy hire.

Our problems go far beyond the defense. Those acting like firing Grantham will suddenly cure most of our ills are fooling themselves.

We lost by 3, 3 and a TD, all being decided in the final seconds, all while scoring 34, 38 and 46. Some major clock mismanagement in the last game, no question. But it’ a tough to argue that with a real DC we are not undefeated this season.

And this isn’t some ringing endorsement of Mullen either, because he hired the guy and has to answer for it. But with probably a dozen other DCs this season is a different story. And while I’ve always said unbalanced football is frustrating regardless of how which way it’s packaged, getting a decent DC is a lot easier than the other way around.

Our spread triple option will revolutionize the game
Spread option sounds so attacking.

You need to call it s--p--r--e--a--d option to properly emphasize the slow ass pace we will run it.

Twenty seconds into the playclock and still waiting for the playcall.

Not unlike our current defense really, except of course that the defense is still staring at the sideline while the other guys snap the ball.

I was talking more about the future than just this season. To me, the nuts and bolts of our future comes down to the fact that we aren't recruiting with the other top schools. There's only so much coaches can do when the other team has twice the talent and depth.

Also, do you really trust Mullen to coach a team to a championship? He's still making mistakes even the rookies coaches don't make. We all know he's going to get fired within a few years - might as well make it now and lock up Matt Viator.

No, once Trask leaves the offensive production goes with him. None of the QB's on the roster currently can throw the ball accurately so, they will be more running and athlete QB's. We certainly won't turn into a running team unless a major miracle occurs with the OL and OL coaching.

And, you're correct, opposing coaches are not going to be scared of Jones or whoever starts next season. We just have to hope that Kitna can turn into another Trask and... that the coaches recognize his abilities because, had Franks not been hurt we probably would never have seen Trask.

My good friend lives in Texas and he said Kitna was throwing all over the opposing teams. Hope that is true!

Matt Viator? Sorry, I would offer Urban $10 Million/year to come back when Mullenz leaves.Urban would have us back in the Top 3 in recruiting and would be able to challenge Bama.

Man, Solfa is more All-In with Dorky Dan then he was with Sharkie.

I didn't think that was possible.

he is proud of his moral victories though.

Bo Pelini will not return for another season as LSU's defensive coordinator, the school announced. And, yet 3rd & Grantham is still employed.

The fact is, Meyer could get more than $10 million a year if he wanted to return. That would be a lowball offer.

I give Mullen full credit for at least making the Gators respectable again. However, in my opinion we have plateaued under him. If that's good enough for some so be it, but I'd like to get to the next level.

With the tools Mullen has at Florida I believe he will put a quality offense on the field every year. Trask is great but not perfect; I expect his replacement(s) will have a better supporting cast over time. We had a dramatic W-L turnaround when he was playing Franks. We broke the UGA curse this year. Recruits all over the country see us on the highlight reels every week (mostly good) and know Mullen puts people in the League. You're busy counting beans and not looking at the big picture.

no offense, but there are several levels above where we are right now.
