I emailed him towards the end of mac's tenure and actually got a real reply. Can't say it was actually him and not one of his bag carriers but it was a real response. He addressed some of the points and concerns I brought up specifically. Funny enough, 3 weeks later mac was canned. I think the decision had already been made at that point so the response was easy.

To all of the Gator Boosters. I highly encourage you to personally email Scott Stricklin, [email protected] and let him know that you're not happy with Mullen not replacing 3rd & Grantham. I emailed him this morning and stated that we in the Gator Nation need his assistance. Replacing two DB coaches will not solve the systemic defensive issues we have witnessed under 3rd & Grantham.

I requested Scott to force Mullen to fire the entire defensive staff including 3rd & Grantham. I let him know that if these changes are not made, I plan to evaluate my season ticket renewal as well as my Gator Booster contribution.

Losing $$$$ is the only way the Athletic Department reacts to affect change.

I also requested Scott to force Mullen to fire Hevesy and Knox as they are the two weak links on the offensive side of the ball.

Unfortunately I used up my voting-with-my-wallet privilege on Chump. Let's try a change.org campaign.

My point is if you donate money as a Booster, and want there to be changes on this staff, then Stricklin needs to hear that you want changes or you will not donate more money. Silence is acceptance and no changes will occur. I don't care if I receive a response. I care that major changes to the staff are made.

Word was that after Steve expressed interest in obtaining his old job, Machen told him to "submit his resume."

Whether it was Machen or Foley, it was classless and it cast both as callous idiots. The message was, sorry, you made the decision to leave. We’ve moved on and we have our guy and it’s not you. Move along.

As infinitesimally small as I think of Foley, I am forever convinced this antic was Machen’s doings. Hence why I went after him. In one email I compared his buffoonery to the university having a science opening and requiring Darwin to submit a resume. He probably didn’t care for that either.

Actually, I heard SOS pointed to the Trophy Case for Machen, when asked for his resume. He then walked out and into South Carolina.

I think anybody that donates money to big time college football needs to have their head examined. These universities make millions every year even before you add in revenue from athletics. Jeez, if you have so much money you can't think of anything useful to do with it just send it out here and I'll make sure it gets put to good use.

Probably some truth to it. One of the reasons Spurrier left was Foley not backing him up with the Dockett allegations. There was not a good relationship there at all. So the idea of JF being a little abrasive with the idea of a return is not unimaginable, especially considering it was Machen’s baby by then and all focus was on Meyer. I could easily see him doing it just to be a jerk.
