I knew it was first recorded by The Box Tops, did not know it was written by the same guy that wrote Always on My Mind, Wayne Carson. I always thought Willie wrote that.

We fell in love with this girl at a small community theatre production in Franklin - a Ray Charles tribute. She knocked our socks off.

They say the worst thing you can do as a female singer is take on Whitney Houston. She apparently didn’t get the memo:

If this is Mr Talley how about giving him a call and ask him wtf kind of 12 string is he playing

Prototype for that weird thing Prince later played.

At first I felt uncomfortable cause I wasn't sure which eyeball to look at so I just stared at his belly button.

This one is similar to the Daryl Hall/Jimmy Wayne cover of their own song....kinda sorta. This is the song "How Long" done by Ace back in the 70's. Soon as you hear it, you'll recognize it. But the twist here is Paul Carrack was the lead for Ace back then and is lead singer/keyboard in this version as well....with Clapton on guitar, Gary Brooker(Procol Harum) on keyboards, a great assortment of horn players who I can't recall names but have seen them only with the top artists, Andy Fairweather Low(long, long time Clapton 2nd guitar who is exceptional in his own right) and others. Didn't see him, but this was from a show called Ringo and Friends so I assume Ringo is somewhere hanging around. Point being, this is an all-star cast and the song is good. The second one below is Gary Brooker doing Procol Harum's White Shade of Pale. Just as good as he was over 40 years ago when he first did it.

Sorry for double posting these but when I found the second one while watching the first--I simply couldn't resist. These are just too good to not post.;)

Incredible lineup. Brooker seems to have as much range as ever.

Agree about Brooker. He's simply gotten better with age. This post below is one I put in the "Music on your mind" thread a long while back, but it's worth putting in here as well. Same song as above, so it's not a cover but IMO, this is THE best version of Whiter Shade of Place I've ever heard. Stunning. Takes slightly over a minute into the video to get to the song, but well well worth it.

This has probably already been posted in here, I know a number of their videos have been and I'm not gonna look.
