That's the same one I am referring to. Not the one that John Snow hammered in the cave.

Piranha 3DD (2012) - IMDb

Didn't catch the whole thing, I'd say last two-thirds. Here's the summary...

Waterpark, piranhas, boobs, "The Hoff", boobs, piranhas, Gary Busey and other obscure star cameos/characters, legless Ving Rhames trying to overcome demons from previous Piranha movie, boobs, piranhas, gore, blood covered boobs, gore, "The Hoff," boobs, piranhas, really funny ending with really funny closing line by "The Hoff."

Biggest disappointment? Didn't get to see the female lead's boobs. She wasn't the hottest girl in the movie, but c'mon man! What, is she "special"? We have a right to see them in a movie like this.

I'm a simple man, I was entertained.

Wonder Women 1984 (HBOMax) Gal Gadot is in this... which is the only reason to slog through this two and a half hour Hallmark TV movie. They let a girl write and direct this and it shows. The action scenes are few, far between and terrible. What we do get is a lot of angst, longing and personal discovery. Sooo... Gal and Kristen Wiig work in the same Museum when Wiig receives some artifacts including a wish crystal dildo. Coincidentally Pedro Pascal shows up in a horrible toupee to play a white guy who's ponzi scheme oil company is about to be exposed.
Gal and Wiig believe the artifact to be fake. However, Gal wishes on it to have Steve (Chris Pine) back. And Wiig wishes on it to be like Gal and Pedro knows that the crystal is real and obtains it from Wiig. Pedro wishes for.... infinite wishes. I kid you not. Gal figures that infinite wishes are a bad thing so her and Steve are off on the great Crystal Heist. I could go on and on much like the movie but I'll spare you. Interestingly, they allow Gal to stretch her acting chops. Gal Gadot as an actress, I can say with much conviction is very very pretty.
Joe Bob says... your wife should check it out,

Agree. It’s a mess, which is a shame because it had an interesting story/villain to mine. I liked the idea of a malignant evil force working through our natural desires. Gal Gadot makes it worth watching but I’m so glad I didn’t pay to see it.

Throw it on the high and growing pile of DC squanders.

Haven't see that......hmmmm.
Back when we used bowling as yet another excuse to drink, whenever one pin would keep wiggling, whether it fell over or not, we would all get quiet, then look at each other and say, CHUDs!!!"

For those not in "the know," C.H.U.D. stands for Cannabalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller

Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Who knew this film was that old? When it came out, I was very interested, given the general positive reviews. A friend told me it's on Netflix through the end of January (sorry for not sharing earlier if anyone else was interested). Wow...good watch.

Hanks pulls off the FBI agent as flawlessly Hanks normally does and has you expecting. DiCaprio begins the film as a young teen and we watchin him during his 16-20 age frame. Kid had balls of steel huger than most. I expected a bit of taunt and chase, but there really wasn't as much taunt. The film shows the humanity of each character, and more to the relationship than a simple chase film. And it was fun! I like era films that carry over the look and feel, and this film did great capturing the 60's, with several really good supporting roles. Bottom line, if you haven't seen it, you should. Date night or man time, either way I definitely recommend it. 8/10.

I got to meet Frank Abignale at a convention. Pretty friendly dude, but you could tell he was a slick MF’er.

Also, wore a nice suit: like the Yankees Pin Stripes.

Just spent 90min watching this one. In the last 10min I realized I'd seen it long ago...dammit.

Ninja Assasin (2009)

Ok, so I've been wanting to see this for a LONG time. Super assassin (do I have a theme tonight? If so, it was by accident) ... ninja style. Trailers and teasers were good, could the flick live up to the hype? Almost yes, but a lot of no. First I'll start with props to 'Rain', the actor who plays our hero ninja. Beyond that, **** all the acting, it sucked...bad. Except for maybe the guy who played his 'father'. The entirety of the film fluctuated between flashbacks of his growing up in this remote mountain ninja training camp for orphans and the experiences that built up his character, in contrast with a current international police detective 'stumbling' upon a 'ninja-assassin for hire' arrangement employed by govt's around the world. For those of us that love kung fu flicks, the flashbacks were decent. The rest of the film focusing on some American chick working for Europol (yeah, right?) and was filmed in Germany with a mish mash of bad actors, poor dialogue, and **** story. Essentially, I think they had to pay some people to say some gibberish in hopes of pasting together all their fight scenes. They should have just presented the fight scenes...that's what we came for, and the rest was slow and really annoying.

Now, to the good part, the fight scenes. Seems someone discovered how to do the latest blood splatter effect, so we used it in every fight scene, on every hit (kill or wound), from beginning to end. It was kinda cool the first 30 times, but then you get to the second or third fight and it's kinda :so-what: 8) The other special effects investment was remapping the Matrix bullet effect into flying ninja stars. That was also over used to the point where it was cool for the first 500 or so, but then...well, then it was still kinda cool, even if it was played out.

Bottom line, we (I) came for the fight scenes. Those were decent, but overkilled (pun intended) with the special effects. The rest of the scenes were a waste of time. I do not recommend this, on any count.

This is how I felt about this movie... the special effects killed it.

The Little Things (HBO Max) - Denzel, Rami Malek and Jared Leto star. Denzel is a disgraced copy sent from the small town he works in to LA to corroborate on a possible serial killer that they have evidence on. Malek is the hotshot young detective he is to work with and against Captain's orders continues to work with Denzel who's last case caused him to burn out in every way possible. Leto plays the suspect they lock onto and a game comes along. They push their limits and the law and in the end they are left hoping they made the right choices.

Not going to lie I was expecting so much more. It dragged on and in the end just left things open to interpretation of who is telling the truth and who isn't. Not only that so many stupid decisions are made it is baffling. I'm going to give this a 5/10 as it just doesn't live up to anything. Denzel also looks to have aged about 20 years since his last movie, but 4K must not be kind to some.

I rewatched the godfather this past weekend. In a day and era where movies are mass produced, plot lines are copied, and shock value, isms and racial/gender/wokeness is substituted for actual quality, it was a refreshing change and a real treat.

Excellent movie. Gonna watch #2 this weekend probably.
