We’re at real risk of this devolving into a hard versus soft thread.

Its a get off my lawn argument but it has some truth to it. I wish he wouldn't have harped on the players so much and got onto the coaching staff. They recruited and coached these players. If it was some isolated incidents then yeah, its a player thing, but since its the standard across the whole defensive side of the ball then its obviously the coaching and approach.

I also don't think it applies to our offense. While that side of the ball is lesser talent than our rivals on a whole, they don't play soft and they play above their skill. Defense seems to be a case of players playing soft and below their skill levels on a whole. Yeah, there are the Wilsons but on a whole our staff has them out of position and poorly coached.

Those '89 Ole Miss, Auburn and uga games are the quintessential 80's Gators to me, and why every time we wear orange jerseys, I contemplate murdering a puppy.
and don't forget his coming out party in Birmingham against the" Great Bobby Humphrey" when we smoked the Tide, I know cause I was there

we have to build that mental toughness with our front-5 offensively, and our front-7 defensively, in order to compete and contend with the Alabamas of the world.

The big uglies.

Nailed it.

Emmitt is correct. BTW although he is harping on the players being soft and undisciplined, I didn't take it that he was trashing them as much as trashing the culture that is causing it. Standards are set not by decree, but by what those in charge are willing to accept. If the coaches et. al. are willing to accept a certain level of effort and discipline, then that is precisely what they are going to get. Every time.

I saw this in myself as a guy flailing through early life at college so I left to join the Marines. I didn't do this because I wanted to shoot guns or fly planes, I did it expressly for the purpose of gaining the discipline I was sorely lacking at the time. Because without that it doesn't matter how smart or talented someone is.

The fact that you were able to beat stephenpe in introducing that game into this thread is incredible. He's slipping.

I thought Emmitt claims he is a coCaine?

Did he have any comments about a coach opting out of bowl prep and taking yet another vacation instead?

Who is this Emmitt Smith person?

Did he play for Florida?

When did he see this year’s team play?

College Gameday didn’t make it to Gainesville this season so he would have no reason to travel to the games so I am not sure how he figured this out.

He’s 100% right I just struggle with someone so far away from the program making these observations.
If I thought it would help I might feel differently but Dan was on vacation and didn’t hear about it

the rat knows wtf he is talking about............certainly best running back ever. Plays in the SOS offense one year and averages about 8 yards a carry or better. They knew he was coming and he still ran like he stole it..........
