When you first think of buying a vehicle and reliability what is the first brand you would consider?

Reliability is the first factor?

Toyota.

Toyotas and Acura have been the most reliable for us.

Dodge and Ford have been the least reliable in our experience but that's more of a Wednesday Worsts thread.

To me? Very.
I’d say 10 years or 100,000 miles with no major work is reliable My explorer made it to 40,000 miles and needed a new transmission.

I was shopping for the boring sedan: Camry, accord, etc.

I landed on a Mazda 6 and it wasn’t even close. The materials and tech on it crushed the others at the same price point.

62,000 miles: hasn’t been to the shop once.

I love my slow-ass mom mobile Mazda.

My BMW has 145,000 miles.

I've had to replace the fuel pump, charge pipe (twice), oil pan, thermostat and water pump.

That may be more maintenance than you would expect from a Honda or Toyota, but the difference in the diving experience more than makes up for it.

I always wanted a Maseratti just couldn't afford one. I did drive one in Europe back in 1970, didn't get it up to 185 but I'm sure it would have come close.

Had you got up to 185, they woulda taken your license, and now you wouldn't drive.

My 2004 Honda has just over 300,000 miles on it. Had the transmission replaced somewhere around 200,000 but other than that, no major work.

I have had good experiences with Ford Rangers and Mrs. Nalt has had good experiences with her Chrysler Town&Country. It is a 2001 model and she still prefers to drive it over the 2007 chevy Impala that my dad recently gave to her even though the Impala gets almost double the mileage as the van.

Honda Accord - got 300,000 miles out of the first one. No major repairs.

Currently at 190,000 on second one. No major repairs.

I’d have to give the nod to Toyota. My wife’s Camry has around 240k and is still kicking high. About the only mechanical stuff we’ve done have been the brakes. Otherwise, we keep it maintained and it keeps going.

Heretofore, I was a GM guy and still like their pickup trucks. Back in the day, if you owned a GMC you were something!
