Very good hire for UCF. At Malzahn's age he probably stays there the rest of his career, which prevents UCF from having to hire a new coach every 2 to 4 years (if the coach is younger and has success before moving on to a bigger program). His offense will probably translate well in G5.
He will bolt for the first pier 5 job that offers probably, but there are worse places to land. Good recruits and an offense that will fit the local players nicely. They are about to get annoying again probably with their chirping

I don't think he bolts unless it's a blue-chip program (he's not leaving UCF to take an Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Syracuse type job). And if it doesn't happen within the first two years, he'll be 58 years old entering his 3rd season at UCF. I think he stays. UCF pays a respectable salary, plus he's getting $21 million in buyout from Auburn. No state income tax, nice weather, I think he stays.

I hope he is gone before he embarrasses us in a 2 for 1.

He isnt staying in the CUSA2 for long. Pretty sure he has the best record vs Saban.

I agree he could bolt, if he gets a good P5 job. Why would he leave for an Ole Miss, Vandy, or Wake Forest type job? He should have taken the Arkansas job when it opened two years ago, but that job will be filled for at least two, three more years (or longer). He'll be 56 this season and could have a solid career at a school like UCF for 10 years, making ~$3 million/year. I'm sure the UCF AD is putting a hefty buyout in the contract also, should he leave (Tenn paid $3.5 million to buyout Heupel).

Gus doesn't need the $$$ any more. He should make this his last stop. I would rather be coaching in Orlando than in Auburn.

Mama Malzhan is very high maintenance! Plus, Waffle House after every win gets ‘spensive.

Gus gets a 5-year $11.5 million contract ($2.3 million/avg - the same Heupel was getting).

I saw a gif earlier today regarding the Gus Bus heading to UCF. It showed Saban and another SEC coach or two laughing at UCF. Can't seem to find it now...

Did UCF just unload their garbage on UTooth and then do better than them on the hiring of an AD and Coach?

FSU: added Sabbath Joseph as a defensive analyst. Joseph, who played linebacker at USF, graduated from Miami Central High School in 2005, signed with USF and had a successful career totaling 125 tackles, 3 sacks and 1 interception from 2006-2010. After his college career ended, Joseph returned to Miami Central as a defensive assistant.

I saw a headline that Robert Gillespie is gonna be the RB coach at bamuh. So a Gator heads for bamuh and we're stuck with knox.

Edit: Bruce Feldman tweeted it. Can't paste the link for some reason.

We have Greg Knox.....and Alabama now has Robert Gillespie:
