Yes, I did buy and old Model A Farmall tractor. I'm hoping to get it and the identical tractor that my dad gave to me fixed up. Neither tractor are currently operational and I don't think I would trust either of them to pull the tree we still have to cut because they just aren't heavy enough for my liking. I also like cutting trees down and have a friend who owns a Woodmizer sawmill. I'll haul these logs that I have over to him and I may see if he will barter with me on them. Maybe he will saw the Ash for me in exchange for the Walnut. I know the Walnut is more valuable but I just don't really want any of that right now.

My business partner collects old tractors (maybe 9 or 10 now) mostly IH and Farmall, although he recently bought a new 600R Deere and apparently an old dually IH that I haven't seen yet-

Very nice. I really like that old W9 right there. I've never been a fan of those "tri-cycle" front ends on tractors. that W9 looks really strong though...Where is your friend located? And does he share his tractors with the public or just keep them hidden away in his shed?

There is an 80-something y/o man in Moody, Alabama that buys old tractors and fixes them up. He then parks them out in his front yard along the highway to show to the world. Even at his advanced age he still spends most of each day through the summer standing out there talking with people who stop to look at them all.

Check out this antique tractor display in Moody I took my youngest two boys down there last summer to check them out. Even at 12 and 15 years old they were impressed. I hope to take my Dad who is about to turn 87 in mid-March down there soon.

He is in Lincoln County Ga. I think he hopes to be somewhat public with his collection in the future. He is in the process of getting this farm (originally part of his grandfather's land) established and will relocate there permanently. One of the old Internationals was his grandaddy's.
That's a great story about the Tractor Man, he has quite an assortment of toys. Thanks for the link.

Thanks, a few of us had to relocate from our old hood. This has been a good place to land and appreciate Ox for the new home. Can't believe it's been 8 months already. Politics/Covid got in the way of some good friendships.

A few of your fellow refugees seem to be a little.... um.... how do you say it.... nuts. But that's what makes this place fun. You have always come across very respectful and level headed. Hope you and Seedy stick around.

It's really a shame that politics can get in the way of family of friends. Sadly, respecting other's opinions and agreeing to disagree are almost all but dead.

Sorry BMF for derailing your thread. But that shouldnt be any surprise.

Thanks. Many people here are familiar from Gator Sports message board 12-15 years ago. From there I went to several private boards.
Sounds like this board had a shake-up too so I'm not really sure who is considered new and where they came from besides @Nalt.
That Bama fan is kind of like a stalker and follows me from board to board. Can't seem to shake him.

Brad, I have known CD since 2007 or 2008. My wife and I actually stopped in Lexington and had lunch with CD a few years ago on our way up to a funeral in West Virginia. This past September my family went up to Cincinnati to my niece's wedding and on our way home we actually stopped by (invited of course) and had lunch with CD, Seedy and their two seedlings. Seedy is a really great guy. A hard worker and a very intelligent man. Their kids are well rounded/grounded and very respectful. Oh, and CD is ok too... ;)

In all honesty though, CD is somewhat of a stalker. Every message board she goes to she always talks me into going there too. If she weren't such a good person I would have parted ways with her years ago... She really is awesome. :fistbump:

EDIT: I didn't see her message just above mine until after I clicked on "Post Reply." I had no idea she was accusing me of being a stalker but it is ironic that we both said that about each other.

FWIW, it is really HER that is the stalker... ;)

Thanks @Nalt, I could say some of the same nice things about you too but I wouldn’t want to give anyone the wrong impression. ;)

But you do have a terrific family!

Lol, but you don't really know them all that well personally. They keep their secrets pretty well... :lol2:
