To be clear, I won’t dispute your last sentence. He has to improve.

But UF has consistently had 2 really good teams on its schedule, a couple gritty opponents, and then a bunch of average to below average fluff. It’s just switched from ut, fsu and occasionally Aub or uga in the 90s, to Lsu, uga and occasionally some other random team like Alabama this upcoming year. Mullen’s path may be slightly easier than what guys like Spurrier and Meyer faced, but not by a great deal. And his starting point was far worse.

I’ve said before that I’m ok with launching him if we have a definitive upgrade. Especially if we continue to see the 9-10 win but no trophy type years a few more times, and if recruiting doesn’t pick up. So it’s not some blanket endorsement or defense of him. You just can’t base ease or difficulty of a schedule entirely, or even largely, on where the noles and vols are at the moment. It would be as equally flawed as raving that Mullen’s 5-0(6-0)against teams Spurrier was 2-4 against in his first 3 seasons. The story is still the same. It’s the characters that have changed.
Here's the thing. He is what he is. If we wanted 9 wins a year , we could have kept butters. Sure , there doesn't appear to be a "definitive " upgrade on the market but at some point we need to keep swinging.

If Mullen was actually trying to win, I'd be on board. If he was making staff changes and recruiting as hard as the other guys, I'd feel good about giving him a few years. Heck, I'd be excited about next year if Grantham woulda got shcit canned. The problem is he has this "I have arrived " attitude and the shine of anything good he's done is really wearing off.

Yeah, we’re not really saying different things. The one area I disagree with you in is I think he’s light years better than McElwain. Frauds are frauds and 2020 should’ve been Mullen’s 2017 or 2013. It wasn’t. Whether or not he’s the guy is a different argument, and one of which I’m open to discussion. But JM wasn’t going to put up 9-10 win seasons consistently. Every win felt like a loss and only wasn’t by the slimmest of margins. There’s a reason he sat on the market for 2 months and took a position coach job.

But again, I’m ok with the idea of rolling the dice again in a year or two if this persists. And when/if he’s let go at that time, it will be largely because of his personnel choices and stubbornness. No disagreement there.

he's already dictated what the future will be in a year or two with his piss poor recruiting.

Ok then it’s settled. After two more seasons of 9-10 wins, maybe we’ll have finally taken a step forward in facilities and maybe get a real change in guard at the top who will land the next great coach. There are worse 5 year periods. I’ve lived through several.

If we suck next year, it needs to end. I don't wanna see a year of a lame duck coach. This year was the year to revamp. Not at the end of next season year like we all know is gonna happen. I will admit that how disgusted I am Grantham being on board probably clouds my judgment. Another year of that assshole is unforgivable.

Yep, the “Grantham thing” should piss everyone off. That a-hole should’ve been drop-kicked off Century Tower a long time ago.

It's is my dawg, but in this we completely disagree. Mullen sucks like a black hole and his behavior and lack of commitment to this program are unbecoming and a joke compared to what he's being paid.

I could tolerate it a bit if he was honest and a bit self reflective of his shortcomings and mistakes but he's not. Instead he's defiant, deflective and snarky when (rarely) pressed. All while preaching about "relentless effort." That mantra is a joke and we all know it.

Exactly. He acts offended if anyone ever asks a tough question. He is getting paid millions a year and the reason you get paid that much is because the job is stressful and you are going to have to answer tough questions at times. It is infuriating to me to watch someone act the way he does when he is under pressure.

Well, originally I was thinking one more season. But since I know it bothers you so much, how could I not go for two?

He’s gone from Mullinz, to Dorky Dan, to Dildo Dan. I’m on the edge of my seat to see what’s next.

Fuching iggles fan just want to burn everything down. next he will be bring snowballs with a cooler to take his shots at tijuana.

Pierce does seem to slam into the wall of tacklers, not seeing the slight daylight to the left or right?
I think Malik Davis &/or N'aquan Wright have better vision with a bit more slither-through. Could be exciting to observe.
Hope Mullen chooses the ball carrier based on his YPC and not seniority or # of past carries =a kind of seniority.
