We got married in a different country, so it doesn't apply.

Wear your mask.

Thread is already derailed so what’s one more post? My apologies.

My friend’s neighbors went to one island in Hawaii to stay for a few days with the proper COVID test and paperwork. Then went on to a second island. By law there they were supposed to have a new test which they didn’t know about. They got escorted to their hotel to quarantine for 14 days with guards at the front and back doors to enforce it. After 2 days of being hotel bound they changed their flight to come home so they were escorted by guards to the airport. They get home to find out that they were both charged and fined for leaving quarantine. I think it was $5,000 each or some absurd amount. I need to ask for an update and see if anything has changed.

Seems reasonable.

A little touchy on the Oxbucks issue?
a tad.

perhaps it was the article I read about $100 investment in Bitcoin in 2009 would have resulted in $48 million today.

my oxbox retirement plan pales in comparison.

Gorgeous weekend in the Bluegrass. The ground has dried out enough to start running loads to the back of the farm to the burn pile. @Seedy has been cutting the logs into manageable chunks so together with the kids they can load up the tractor for me. Just need a nice day to burn when some of this has dried out. There’s still so much to do but it’s not going anywhere.

You need a burn permit for that? We would in my county. Anything with a diameter greater than 8ft. It’s so dumb.
8.0 ft in diameter and 20 ft high: acceptable.
8.01 ft in diameter and 1 ft high: permit required. 2 8ft diameter burn piles right next to each other: acceptable.

No, I don’t think so. Never had an issue in over 20 years.

You’ve got some crazy “rules”

We're also not within city limits. County rules have lots of flexibility

I wasn’t either where I lived in Georgia. One of the first 10 to move into a neighborhood that ended up with roughly 200 homes. Shortly after I moved in, I came home early one day to see a small village of migrants grilling hot dogs on a bonfire in front of the house being built next door.

Oh, I'm in the country too and we are considered open burn. We had some jackass call on a nice fire I had going. At least that's what the ranger claimed. He was nice enough, but that is also where the rules were explained to me. I was annoying the guy. "So you are telling me that a fire that is 9 ft in diameter but 2 inches high is a problem, but a fire that is 8ft in diameter but 20 ft tall is ok??!!"

Trust me when I say I can stack that pile pretty damn high.

we have about 30 houses now in the area. The family land originally belonged to the neighbor down the street that sold off 5-10 acre tracts a little at a time. One of the newest neighbors called the fire department on him shortly after they moved in. Welcome to the hood.
