the bad news is running the option allows the defense to choose who gets the ball. the easiest way possible to negate an effective runner. Just crash the unblocked DE on the RB.yep. Good news is that it looks like Lingard is getting reps with 1st string. He’s the burner.
this along with EJ's almost predetermination to keep the ball anyway means you shouldn't get too excited about any of the backs getting any significant yardage.
there's a reason Dan Mullins had many thousand yard rushing quarterbacks and no thousand yard rushing running backs. it's the same reason any competent running back recruit of avoids us like the plague.
