Kudos to the players on the comeback. Players of the game were CC and Mann but the unsung hero was Scottie Lewis. By far his best game of the year.

I'm still shaking my head at some of MW decisions. Why does he continue to allow Locke inbound the ball when hes clearly not comfortable and why in the hell werent we fouling with less than 5 seconds in regulation? It's nearly statistically impossible to lose the game at that point.

I get your point and agree. But, I have heard many good coaches debate whether to foul in that situation. Some think it is smart. Other coaches think it is strategically bad.

Thanks to AKA for the highlight reel. I was fishing when it began and on big dock having lunch before I discovered two guys could see it on a small screen by this big outdoor bar. Oral Roberts was on TV in the 60s. Early Sun, mornings. He and this guy.

cause you dont want a team shooting FT with the clock stopped. Scoring with no time going off the clock is usually the perfect scenario. Ive seen it work and not work both ways..........everybody is a coach. But I AM COACH.

White, teach them:
1) how to inbound the ball
2) Duruji how to hit FTs (he shoots 43.8% on FTs)
3) make sure Appleby is 100%
4) to be aware to come help when your ball-handling teammate gets trapped
5) always quick-check to see if Castleton is open on the give & go that Castleton just gave you
6) give Payne a 2nd chance >> don't make him just watch these playoffs >> don't open a can of pout-azz on him
7) actually, I'd like to see Gator defense hands flicking wildly to annoy
8) keep Lewis playing loose
Yes, yes! on #5...that and try executing a proper pic n roll occasionally. Castleton clearly understands the concept but I sometimes wonder if the rest if the team has ever heard of this?

Ernest Angley was by far my favorite nutjob TV preacher to watch. He was a hoot. And Art Grindle was my neighbor when I was in HS. I actually drove into his bushes one drunken night. Also, he lived on a lake and his poodle was eaten by a gator.

I tried really hard to find an old video of him jumping on a car, tearing the price placard in half and saying I WANT TO SELL YOU A CAR,,,,,,,,we got it on channel two in Archer in the 60s. WESH

Well, I know White isn't leaving now ... or in the near future. .
A deal's a deal.... Bust a deal, face the wheel.
It should be win or die for Mike White.
Win one game, you can keep your job. You're not fired.
Win two games, we'll forget about how disappointed we've been. Clean slate.
Win three games, we'll give you an extension and maybe a raise.
Make it to the final four, we get a banner. You win. Best coach since Billy D.
Looks likely Mike White will luck into the Sweet 16. If he makes his second Elite 8, we have to applaud his post-season record at UF. He still sucks as a coach, but he brings in the players who bring home the bacon.

So, if a coach you don't like makes it to the S16, E8, F4 or F it's luck. If he doesn't he's incompetent and toast. Just to point out a theme from the fire CDM threads, a primary responsibility of a college coach is to recruit the talent to make it. Of course making it through the 64 team field involves some luck including low seeds eliminating the competition.

Yes, I know it's schadenfreude. Recruiting is his strength. Coaching is his weakness. Did you miss the end of the game or something?

Ive seen it both ways also and coached it both ways. It’s just not an automatic non negotiable deal. It might have been a recognition of our difficulty getting the ball in against pressure. They hit 2 free throws then get a 5 second call or a turnover and we’ve left time on the clock for them to win. I’ve seen every possible scenario play out.

Oral Roberts has that point-guard who leads the nation in scoring. I call him Biomass but I think it's Abmass. Bother his shooting and they are dumbfumbled.

Get them in foul trouble and it should be a blowout. Nothing screams “no bench” like 4 starters playing at least 42 minutes each.
