Mike's name appears on any potential college head coaching basketball job for a school that would be considered a better job than UF exactly the same amount of times that Cousin Eddie's name appeared on any list of NFL head coach opening candidates!. I will give you a hint. The answer is a number that is LESS THAN one.
An integer less than one.

Shaka to Marquette. Need to get White's ass to Texas or OU.

It is just so incredible to me how lucky some schools/teams/fans get and how we at UF are mired in below mediocrity in head coaches in the only 2 sports anyone cares about. Tex-Ass is about to get bailed out on a guy they want to fire anyway and the guy they really want to hire has a lesser buyout in a week or so. Meanwhile we are stuck with a Fooleyish AD type posing as a men's head basketball coach and we can't even get a 4th rate program to even place a collect call!

But remember our AD’s (and there are two of them) are the best in the country. Shaka bailed because he knew he was in trouble, moreover he knew the Texas administration had the nerve to make the change.

No such concern here for White

Let's be real. Most of the names that have been mentioned on here as potential replacements ain't upgrades. That list of candidates in the article jboss posted made me understand why we're keeping white. There is no musslemen or nate oats this year. Smith I think is that caliber but he's gone. I just plan on not watching much next year again.

Yeah the expectations are too high for those coaches to meet so they won't come here. Heck our best coaches ever SHOULD have more NCs but don't. SOS only has 1. Urban only has 2. Billy D only had 2. Its very criminal that Sully only has 1 with all the top talent that he pulls in. Those Elite 8 losses to Butler and Louisville under Billy D still haunt me. We had huge leads and sat on the ball and couldn't close out the games(Sounds familiar?). Too many turnovers down the stretch(sound familiar?) doomed those 2 teams or else we have 2 more Final 4s in our pockets and could have won it all both those years cause we had superior talent. We all always want more but sometimes the stars just don't align and it doesn't happen.

Well @Jbossgator8 , yes we all want more but your sighted examples are exactly why many of us are constantly pointing out the obvious. I have never been mad at results, etc. and realize shyt happens (ON OCCASION), but most of the stuff that we speak of on here regardless of sport is so obvious that is the kind of fundamental coaching acumen that is prevalent at both pee wee level and women's sports. An apple is not an orange and an orange is not an apple, so you can;t compare the two.

Good luck to IU and their new head coach: Mike Woodson. Mile was a terrific player at IU but at 63 years old and having spent most if not all of his coaching time in the NBA, this could be a quite curious hire. This why I never give 2 shyts about hiring a guy who went to that said school. Sometimes it does not turn out as many fans hope. I prefer priority #1 to be hire a great coach, not hire an alum or one who has spent time at said school. Looks like IU went the way that many UF fans want the UF to go when any job opens up.
