That was a really good series for us. We didn't luck into anything. We just dominated them. I was quite surprised actually. I expected every game to be a struggle but we got an early lead and held onto it in every game.

0-2 to start the weekend at USCe. Lost game 1 with a one run lead and and 0-2 count on the USCe hitter with 2 out in the bottom of whatever to a solo homer and then another run. Got worse in Game 2. Still early but this team is not nearly as good at the experts think (or thought).

I think it’s the Gatorbait curse. After the football and basketball meltdowns we thought we get relief from baseball. We can’t even count on the baseball team anymore.

Scott hung a offspeed into middle of the plate 0-2 with 2 outs. That's plain unforgivable for a reliever of the caliber expected at UF. Up to that point he was killing it. I don't know if Sully called that shyt and even if he did I'm sure he didn't ask for that location. That was a pitcher just being stubborn and dumb. IMO, he should have gone FB up and in, letter high or off the plate. We have 3 freshmen that are REALLY good but clearly not ready for SEC pitching and Fabian is in a funk from hell.....that whole team is hitting wise. In fairness, that USC outfield made some ridiculous plays that save some runs late in the game.

Have to agree with you here, hopefully we catch fire soon but our bullpen is not nearly as good.
A win gets us to 4-2 in league play, looks much better than 3-3. Still a little early but I like this team. Maybe we are a softball school? lol

Most, not all, are swinging at bad pitches way out of the strike zone with 2 strikes. They are not choking up on the bat, shortening their swing or protecting the plate with 2 strikes. This is nothing new. It is an O'Sullivan trademark. I had foolishly hoped that Jeroloman might make a difference

Getting broomed by what I think will turn out to be a mediocre USCe team is not a good sign. @Bullag8r said it by noting all of the K's in the 3 games. I think Fabian K'ed 10+ times this weekend and he is considered one of if not the top position player in college that is draft eligible. Sully is trying to win with pitching and Gorilla ball, which is how the game is played these days. Unfortunately the pitching is not good enough to make up for the lack of Gorilla's on the team.
BTW, Gorilla means home Run Hitters. Would not want anyone to take my words out of context these days

Yeah not looking good for Sully so far this season. Its criminal that he only has the 1 NC with all the talent he brings in. Could this be the end for Sully? Could we have openings in our 3 major top sports all in the next few years? Sure looks like it by the way everyone talks here about our coaches.

Has Strickland fired a coach besides butters the train wreck yet? He will probably give sully a raise and a 4 year contract extension

Yeah there is an issue. Aleman and Scott look better or at least deserve a chance to compete for the starting spot

Agreed. Maybe it will take some pressure off Mace to not pitch the first game. Obviously we have to change something up because the pitching is still piss poor.
