His classes won’t transfer from MISSISSIPPI JR COLLEGE

He didn't enroll in January because he needed ONE class that UF required. He graduated the JUCO in December, but was not allowed to enroll due to that ONE class. So he's apparently finished the class he needed and will be accepted (supposedly).

The issue is - and we discussed this earlier in the thread - why in the f*ck didn't UF have someone in our academic or recruiting office going over his transcripts/courses to ensure he completed all the classes he needed to get into UF? It's amateur hour in our recruiting department.

He only needed one class after high school too and didn’t do it.....

My issue is this kid has wanted to be a Gator...If he is any good...UF Athletics should have made sure he was ready.

Other schools make it work. Why could he not have been accepted on probation?

I dont think he qualified at all. Wasnt eligible to go to any NCAA program.

Just needed one course is always the mantra.

An algebra course is usually the culprit. Is that a UF or SEC requirement?
you're not understanding. it's not that he did not qualify for UF only, it's that he did not qualify for any NCAA school, which was known to be likely from the beginning.

it's why he took his HS senior year off from football to work on his grades. He took his first year of junior college off also. We were pretty much the only school even recruiting him bc of his grade situation.

If he qualified for the NCAA, he would have just switched schools, gone to Miami or whatever, like so many have who qualify for the NCAA but not UF.

This is my issue with UF, Vandy...Football Players don't get the same education...They have tutors, study sessions, etc. Now they also have to put in way more than the average student. How basketball does it is beyond me?

So why pretend? Either treat athletes the same as other students or admit there is a difference and move on.

We know that very few players could get into UF as Freshman so why be any different than LSU, Bama, OSU, etc?

UF staff must have interviewed him enough to see his problem. Why no help (a mentor or tutor) for a guy who so badly wanted this college?

The X Factor.

... Swonkey, how come you know such personal private stuff on Diwun? Especially when your dossier on this unqualified nobody exactly matches your brand of negative condemnation.? And, even if your info is true, just exactly why would you dig so long for it on a non-qualifier? Must be your research on your book: "The Joy of Condemning". :D

:blahblah::blahblah::blahblah:

Ive been completely optimisitic about his playstyle as a rangy outside linebacker once we switch DCs and use outside LBs again.

Im completely pissed about us burning a seat two years ago on him when we should have known better.

Isn't answering like a politician bringing politics to a sports board?
