From 247:

Nick Evers, committed to Florida -- similar to USC commit Devin Brown at the Elite 11 Houston Regional a few weeks ago, Evers was the quarterback at Sunday's camp who got noticeably better as the day progressed, so much so that he earned one of the three aforementioned invitations to the Elite 11 Finals.

Evers really got his feet under him during the nine-throw "pro day" station. Getting a chance to reel off nine consecutive throws, rather than one at a time before heading to the back of the line again, has to help a QB get in his rhythm, and that seemed to be the case with Evers.

The Flower Mound (Texas) High School standout showed a quick and consistent release, accuracy, and encouraging zip on these particular throws to set the stage for the rest of his day, which featured an improved combination of velocity and ball placement. Evers owns a long, lean frame that should hold more weight and continue to raise the ceiling on his downfield capacity, which is already a strength of his.

Quick release and some pro on the ball! This kid looks better than EJ, AR and DelTaco.

He keeps dropping the ball.

He's a project OT prospect who is playing TE at these camps. You'd think we were FAU or FIU, but nope....it's UF, taking an underweight OT project on who is still playing TE in HS and has never played o-line. smh

Or we could go after some real HS OT's who weigh more than 240lbs.

:lmao2: He is catching the ball then dropping to make the next catch.

I actually really like the ways he is catching with his hands. Most of the stonehands type (Copeland) let the ball get into their body or trap it.

He is no Kyle Pitts but for a 6-7 guy he moves ok. Not a bad project as projects go. I dont hate the signing. Mhllinz really likes big receivers, since he left UF the first time.

Ive heard people say we move him to OT, but Im not sure that is anything but an internet rumor.

Usually if they are projecting to move, the kid will switch positions, ie Black playing LB in college some.

I dont need any perspective. People have been turning TEs to OT for a while.

I just don't see us listing him as an OT so I think this is mostly an internet thing.

And regardless, he is no where near OT size. If he does move, it will be under the next coaching regime.

It’s where we’re recruiting him at

Once Jonathan Odom wastes another year f*cking around trying to play TE they can accelerate the weight gain and move him to OT too.
