I’m just afraid he’ll get himself mixed up in the high stakes game of world diplomacy and international intrigue. It may ultimately lead to his downfall.

No elite skill players are coming here to run Q Power option ball ever. It wouldnt matter if we had the Taj Majal.

Who am I kidding? The three star whisperer dont need no damn talent. This is the year the diamonds in the rough Dionte Marks and JaMarcus Weston are All SEC. Danny boy says they are 5 star athletes.
You fuchsing muthafuchser...only one Danny Boy in UF history and it ain't that cocksucker

This offense didn’t seem to hinder Urban from getting top skill players when he was here. It may not be what you want from an offense, but it works. That’s not really debatable. Dan’s problem is, and will always be, recruiting. He just doesn’t try hard enough in a recruiting world that’s extremely competitive. As we’ve seen over the years, even if you’re right, kids aren’t making highly informed decisions like that. I bet Saban could sell a triple option offense and still recruit top skill players. If you can sell, you can sell.

In 2006. By 2007 we couldnt recruit shyt on offense and ended up with the Jeff Demps and Deonte Thonpson show.

You were fuchsng stoned if you arent aware of how badly we dropped off after that.

Also Urban ismt here. Dildo Dan was the weak link on that staff, especially in recruiting, but offense was always garbage compared to the defense and special teams.

Our offense was worse after 2006??? What games did you watch? In 06 UF averaged 29.7 on offense and allowed 189 total points which was 13.5 a game. In 07 our offense averaged 42.5 and our defense allowed a whopping 331 points or 23.6 a game. In 08 we scored 43.6 a game and only allowed 181 or 12.9 a game. In 09, after Mullen left we dropped to 35.9 a game but the defense only allowed 174 points or 12.4 a game. Obviously a stellar 4 year run but Swonkers is REALLY stoned to think we dropped off after 06 on the offense under Meyer/Mullen. Yeah yeah you are gonna say that it was all Meyer and Mullen had nothing to do it cause that is how you ALWAYS explain it away. The stats that I just gave don't lie and just OWNED and DESTROYED your stoned statements above.

We know you love you some Mullen, wipe your chin off. But using the Saban example is a schit example. Saban just has to say, see the results in the 1st round of the draft the last decade. See the NFL scouts who come to practice on a regular basis. See the National Prime Time games we are on, and the scouts at those games. The kids what to know will I be put in a position to go to the next level. What program over the last decade plus has been a better pipeline to the NFL. Last year Alabama ran an NFL offense run by a former NFL offensive coordinator. If you couldn't see the difference in route selection and offensive systems during the SEC Championship game, then you are actively trying not to pay attention.

What did Saban replace his former NFL offensive coordinator with, another former NFL offensive coordinator. if you think we are currently even close to that, you are smoking more crack than Marion Barry.

As far as the system works, with the talent we keep getting through the transfer portal, and the great talent the recruiting experts here keep beating their meat too. What has he really shown with that talent. The best tight end talent in the last decade and first round talent at Wide Receiver that wasn't really used until year 3? If Franks didn't get injured what would our offense have looked like the last two years? The coach that Mullen himself said had to convince him to use a vertical passing game is now an NFL coach.

What you have to remember, jboss, is that recruiting wins/losses rarely manifest themselves for at least a year or two. You are correct that '06 and '07 were great offensive classes. But beginning with the '08 class, there was a noticeable dropoff. The Hammond/Hines/Ali show we saw from 2010-2012 was a result of that decline. Now, it's true that technically the only one of those classes that you can truly lay at the feet of Mullen is 2008, as by '09 he was gone. But there is visible evidence that one of either his personality, system or effort hasn't always sat well with offensive stars. And understand, that's coming from someone that still would like to see him succeed here. That's why this season's offense is so critical. If Jones has a great season, specifically through the air, it may possibly diminish some of those concerns. If he doesn't, and instead we see a lot of QB powers and option, it will only confirm the critics'(including rival coaches') stance. That's just reality.

Find the recent post where I’m supporting Mullen. I’ll wait...

You POS’s are ridiculous! Because I don’t b!tch and moan about everything you take that as support. Whatever point you and the a$$ are trying to make is garbage. Offensive schemes aren’t hindering us. Not having top notch players is causing us to under perform. Just because you don’t like the guy doesn’t mean everything he does is wrong. I look around college football and see a lot of offenses that I don’t personally like, but that doesn’t mean they don’t work. I’ve yet to see a team not succeed because their scheme was poor. It’s usually because you don’t have the players. I’ve said this over and over, Xs and Os are highly overrated. At the end of the day football is just blocking, running, catching and throwing. None of these hotshot coaches are reinventing the wheel. Rather great offensive minds have a great feel for the game and when to use particular formations and play calls.

And please stop using Saban to derail the conversation. I use Saban as an example a lot. Only because he’s perceived as being the best. You could literally insert whatever coaches name there that you wanted to. I made a simple, irrefutable statement. Then you go off on a tangent. My point there was that Saban has hired several guys to come in and run his offense. A lot of them with drastically different styles. Yet it never hinders his ability to recruit. I’m using that point to bolster my take that Mullen’s style of offense isn’t holding us back. It’s his sh!t recruiting.

Sometimes I’m surprised when you guys respond so vehemently against me. It’s like you don’t even read what I say. You just see my name then respond. I’m literally saying the coach sucks because of recruiting not scheme. And you say I love Mullen. The internet is a confusing place.

Yes. Retaining Grantham may prove to be a fatal mistake for Mullen.

Mullen has done a lot wrong here. Which is why I reacted to the cries about the offense. There’s plenty enough to be upset about without creating things.

I have to agree with Renard to an extent about the offensive scheme. However, while the production on the field of that scheme isn't the reason we are not advancing, it has a lot to do with why our recruiting sucks. Top O players dont want to play in his system and it is obvious. I am not a fan of Mullen ball but I also won't ignore the fact that our offense looked well coached and was finally all on the same sheet of music. Its been 10yrs of just absolute misery of offense until Mullen got here and that probably has skewed how good it actually looks, but there were very little bone head plays nor stupid penalties like false starts or illegal formations. It was a championship level offense and it looked very well coached.

But the biggest thing that is holding us back is defense and it has been the exact opposite journey as the offense since Mullen arrived. The defense was a very solid unit when Mullen got here and now it is complete garbage. From the talent level we have all the way to them being clueless on what they are doing. Talent and coaching is severely lacking.

I can't get over Mullen retaining Grantham. It was the final straw for me. It makes no sense at all. Grantham sucks and keeping him proves that Mullen isn't here to get the program back. With the way the season ended, the drama created by Mullen, keeping Grantham seemed more like a stick in your face move to us than anything else. I could seriously tolerate Mullen O ball if the defense wasnt so bad. I used to be a Mullen pumper but that was it for me.

But it did. During his first few retarded OCs who knew nothing but power running and screens passes, ge landed elite RBs, but no elite QBs and WRs. Why would they go there?

After he hired (gag) Kiffin and opened up the offense, suddenly top WRs and QBs go there too.

So there is no difference in using 4/5 routes and a team using a complete route tree and option routes to show a players knowledge and skills. Seems it's something NFL scouts have brought up when talking about a number of Mullen players when going through the pre-draft scouting since the mid 00s'. But that doesn't matter, right? Yes, at it base football is about blocking the dude infront of you and execution... But that is at it's base. And what do you see from our great offensive mind?

Walk into a 5* receivers living room, tell them you might not see the field in the first 2 years and you will average around 500/600 yards a season. You will usually be the 3rd/4th option in the offensive system, but that offensive system doesn't hurt getting talent?

And please stop using Saban to derail the conversation. I use Saban as an example a lot. Only because he’s perceived as being the best. You brought up Saban, I just responded. As far as Saban's style, seems to have changed over the last decade as well as the type of play-calling. But we should take your word about not, the NFL scouts who have mentioned it through reports, or analysts who have mentioned it. Especially the changes in his philosophy after Kiffin was OC. Notice since he changed his scheme he is recruiting even better at the skill positions. Of course you don't. Just like you didn't notice they have 4 receivers taken in the first 20 picks the last two drafts as well as 2 quarterbacks taken in the top 15 picks. But that won't matter for recruiting, because I just brought up Saban it's not like you didn't make a complete pull out of your ass statement first.

Sometimes I’m surprised when you guys respond so vehemently against me. It’s like you don’t even read what I say. You just see my name then respond. I’m literally saying the coach sucks because of recruiting not scheme. And you say I love Mullen. The internet is a confusing place.

This whole argument you are making now is in defense. We all agree he appears to be a lazy recruiter, but to try to say his offensive system isn't hurting the recruiting as well. I don't believe you are Injun level retarded.... but are you Injun level retarded?
