I’m also preparing an apology letter for the city of Jacksonville.
This had better be an apology letter like the ones that are sent out to apologize for egregious behavior, like the kind you displayed against the fine folks of Jax.
May I recommend some 'woke' dialogue to get you started?
"I am sorry for the hurt, sadness, frustration, fatigue, exhaustion and pain this thread has caused anyone, but specifically to the incredibly kind, generous and high-IQ denizens of Jacksonville. I am struggling to find the words to communicate the deep ache for the damage I have done."
"I am designing a plan for change, for turning the 'I am sorry' to 'I will change'—for moving "Jax. It's Easier Here" from a motto to a pathway from ignorance and toward authentic advocacy,"
"To do this, a GC moderator asked me to center the question: What can I do to unlearn patterns that hurt and harm Jax communities and other communities of Duval? My center is as a learner, so movement for me will involve unlearning and relearning by listening, reading, dialoguing, reflecting and writing as a means for increasing my awareness and knowledge about systemic city-racism and the experiences of people of Duval and people who hold marginalized 'stadium area' identities different from my own."
I think that should get you started... I know the exhausted folk of Jax will greatly appreciate your efforts and then promptly cancel you.
