Marinated chicken thighs from the egg, with fire roasted vegetables and saffron rice. I used rosemary sprigs as skewers for the yard bird. Really infused the meat as did the soaked mesquite I added to the coals.

Shoutout to our Philly fanatic @soflagator

Should’ve taken a picture before I cut her in half

Am I doing this right?

Look great to me.

Ftr, I never lived in Philly and am very unorthodox when it comes to steak and cheeses. So I may not be the best judge. But that, along with something north of 6 ABV and I’m calling that a great dinner.

Just FP Gatorade tonight . Hit the course yesterday for the first time this year. It’s always a good day when the beers out number the bogeys . 13 pars , a double and four bogeys later made for a solid round . I wanted a philly after but had no desire to put the work in .

From Saturday. Friends of ours had us over for a pool party. Firmly put skirt steak up there with any cut. Only a few pale ales, as I kept being handed glasses of Jameson. I had forgotten how good it is. Then yesterday I remembered why I don’t over drink on Irish whiskey.

Smoked a prime rib roast on Sunday. Did I a little different. Made a homemade mustard based BBQ sauce and smothered it. Smoked for 3.5 hours. Wrapped in cellophane and a towel, put in a cooler for 30 minutes. Perfect.

Snapper and Grouper seasons are both open June 5 & 6 so I lowered my snapper inventory. Red Snapper with a mayo based glaze. Cajun seasoning and capers! IMG_2153.JPG

Spending the weekend just south of Franklin NC. It’s a pretty part of the world. Every time we go up that way, there’s an Italian place we go to in Clayton called Mama G’s. Settled on the linguine and clams...

Some really good Italian cuisine (and libations) then back to the cabin to watch the sun set over the mountains. I could get used to this.

The Mrs. loves her some linguine and clams. Only thing that would have been better would have been a pot of steamed clam.

Looks ok.

@NVGator The end product on your prime rib looks sensational! But I have to say that this stage...

...reminds me of something encountered in The Hurt Locker :)

Lunch. The only thing more reliable than the spread itself is the look of disappointment from my mother that it wasn’t completely finished, by like four people.

Our return trip from the mountains on 441 took us behind enemy lines. My daughter insisted we break noonday bread at a little place in Athens called “Mama’s Boy,” undoubtedly named in Kirby’s honor. I can say there’s at least one good thing up here amongst the Dawgs...

The Farm Biscuit with fried chicken, over easy egg, bacon, and tomato on a good biscuit was on point. The fresh cut fries were good as well. I’ll have to say that although they don’t do anything athletically that I’m fond of, they do get a favorable review for their culinary skills.

I’ve eaten there a couple of times. It’s pretty damn good.

Ok, that sounds and looks incredible. I wonder if I could stand just outside of city limits and have them deliver?
