Rahm walks off the 18th green after one of the great rounds you'll ever see, expecting to start the final round tomorrow with a 6 shot lead over Cantley and Morikawa, then gets told by officials that he has tested positive for the bug. He will have to withdraw from the tournament. At least this is the preliminary news as it unfolds. I think this may be the second time he's tested positive. More to follow I guess. What a colossal schyt show.

I guess he's not vaccinated. Not because he got sick, but because he got tested. Its my understanding that the tour hasn't been testing vaccinated players since mid April. We'll see.

If only he had worn two golf gloves, he would have been fine.

With the cycle rate on the test, there's only about a 30% chance or better that it's a false positive. Wouldn't that be a bytch. "our bad, you're testing negative now, sorry you missed your last round"

Good Lord...."Covidphobia" strikes again.
At what point does a person say, "NO!!....I am not going to be tested today"
My God, They're playing GOLF....OUTSIDE....and to top it off, they're social distanced by the game itself.

People are COMPLETELY, ignorant.

He should immediately lawyer up, and prepare his lawsuit for what he would have earned after winning the tournament.

Fuchs the shot and it wouldn't have guaranteed him from another positive test. He came up due to contact tracing. I'd sue the MFer's
Actually yes it would. The vaccinated players don't have to submit to that protocol. They talked about it during the telecast on Sunday.

Actually, vaccine or not, contact tracing would have subjected any player to testing. That was his red flag. Contact tracing.

Bet that's one guy who wishes he'd taken the shot.

Please explain the facepalm. Vaccinations have been available for months. I he had chosen to get vaccinated then he wouldn't have been in the protocol. So he blew the potential for a 1.6m check and a PGA win. Even if the wheels had fallen off in the last round he'd have earned a hefty check. Just a suspicion but if he had a do over, I bet he'd have gotten the vax. It's not everyday that you have a six shot lead going into Sunday.

Link? I know he didn’t get randomly tested, his test was due to contact tracing. But from what I’ve read the vaccinated players don’t deal with that. Why should they? If they are vaccinated and come into contact with someone, they should be good.

Despite the obvious overreach by the PGA and the completely ridiculous edict requiring vaccines for a game played OUTDOORS and social distance by design.

Had the tournament been in Florida, this , would never have happened.

I’m also not sure why the Covidphobia people are so concerned about those of us that have chosen not to take the vaccine.

What the hell is the problem here?
You’re protected right?

Why are you worried about me?

I find it amazingly hypocritical for the PGA to conduct a tournament and then discriminate against those making an individual choice to take or not to take a vaccine.

In a game played outside.

Designed for social distancing.

How do you figure that? Do you think the state of Ohio had something to do with this? The PGA protocols, like them are not, are universally applied, not made up from week to week at the whim of some bureaucrat or local official.

1. Yeah I think the the PGA Covid policy is poorly conceived.
2. Nevetheless, poorly conceived or not if he'd had the shot he'd would have played Sunday.
3. Why, do I encourage people to get the shot. It simple. I'm tired of hearing about COVID, and getting jerked around every week.

I know in you world of euphoria everyone in the world is a happily vaccinated do-gooder but not everyone believes in that.
