This is how a 60 year old gets lucky on his anniversary...

I was fortunate to have married well.

Congrats to you both, Cover. Thirty years is an awesome accomplishment. Not enough of those good stories these days.

Took the missus to the Melting Pot to celebrate 30 years of wedded bliss. One of her cousins told her that if she’d have killed me instead of marrying me, she’d have been out of prison before now. Anyhow, we used to go to the Melting Pot occasionally before kids, so it was a nice spot to go and celebrate. We had a good waitress...

First photo looked like sushi but then it all changed.

Congratulations C2. A well deserved dinner. She should be so lucky and thanking her stars.

First work trip in 15 months I’m gonna have to watch it or I’m gonna gain that so 15 lbs I lost not traveling during Covid.

A place called Hitch in Savannah…Hot chicken and waffles with bourbon pecan syrup and blueberries. AMAZING! Paired well with my sour beer too.

Seriously though Savannah is one of my favorite places to visit…always great food a drinks.

yum - we were in Charleston last week and I took the kids to Savannah for a day trip. Ate at Tubby’s right on the river. It was a touristy spot but the fried seafood was absolutely AMAZING! It came highly recommended and it was well worth it.

I know right where that’s at but haven’t tried it yet. To many good food options in Savannah and not enough time.

I go to Savannah once a quarter (at least). "Sorry Charlie's" has become my favorite at the moment. Good apps and great seafood entrees. Having said that there are probably a dozen or two better choices. Great food town. Waffles look good, but that looks like a snack!

It was bigger than the picture looks…I was stuffed. I’ll have to look into sorry Charlie’s never heard of it

Actually meant to compliment you on those, specifically the salmon one. Looked like you were going to own the page until Cover came along with his fancy fondu/anniversary story. You never stood a chance from there.

But yeah, I usually eat salmon 2-3 nights a week and that looked great.

You don’t like sours?

No. I’ve tried. I’ve had several that I can can respect the flavor profile and that I could maybe drink one of. But definitely not my thing. I don’t like sour anything though, so the concept is flawed from the beginning for me.

I get it it’s definitely a different flavor profile…my favorite type of beer now. Some are so sour I can only drink maybe 1 or 2 but this one tonight was a little more subtle and if I didn’t have to drive I would have had a few more…it was great

Thanks Sofla. It’s hard to get a compliment around here. Appreciate your appreciation.

I’ve been trying to get my wife to try using cedar planks on the grill. We eat a lot of it so I buy a whole fish at a time from a local seafood market and have it portioned. It’s always just broiled though, which is fine, but I’d like to go cedar occasionally.

You can get cedar papers which work just fine. Some will cut a fillet, add carrot & zucchini slices and roll in a cedar paper and grill. Good stuff.
