I think it will cause friction but not so much between different position groups. I think it will cause friction within the position groups. Especially the skill groups. It will be hard to keep depth at RB, WR and QB.
I don’t. This isn’t creating more scholarships or roster spots.

It’s not meant to make them set for life as 18-22 year old student athletes. It’s just allowing them to potentially get a small piece of the pie for their NIL while they’re there. Folks are reading way too much into this. It’s like they’ve been brainwashed over the years by the very organization they hate…the NCAA.

I figured I was overthinking this..

No...but when you have someone like Bowman sitting behind those with seniority it could cause friction. Somebody with a Copeland attitude will transfer because they think they are being held back from getting on the field and boosting their NIL.

The whole notion of “amateurism” or “student athlete” has been a joke for decades. It died when the NCAA and its members went full “TV revenue whores” when cable TV took off. If you hate the current state of affairs, don’t fault the kids.

How is that any different than what already happens?

I really don’t see it changing the number of transfers.

Well one could argue they are. If you're sitting behind less talented players, the less NFL scouts see you....

That was the old argument. Getting to the NFL. Now it gets stronger because its not future $ they feel they will be missing out on, its $ in the present. Especially if the player ahead of them is getting contracts and making $ for NIL while the more talented backup is sitting on the bench.

I don't see how this does anything but help UF. Now you'll have business owners from all over the SE who are Florida fans/alumni helping Mullens no recruiting ass recruit. You know they'll be reaching out to kids telling them if they go to Florida then they'll pay them x amount of money and it'll be legal. Certain places do this already so I don't think it'll benefit them as much.

You see it all the time with bama, uga and clemson players. They mysteriously have an "uncle" give them a car after they sign. I can't remember a Florida player in 10-15 years posting pictures online of their new ride. Hell other schools have multiple players do it every year and nothing ever happens. It's going to make things dirty as hell but I think it'll help level the playing field between coaches who don't give a fuch because their admin has their back versus coaches who are forced to walk a tight rope to keep them happy.

Do you actually think that Mullen is going to out hussle these other schools who already have the dark NIL system set up?

He won't have to, fuchers like you and I will. You know how easy it is to get a hold of a kid through social media, your gonna have die hard fans recruiting for the mother fuchser.

Living in Jawja I guarantee you every car dealership in the state will be contacting high profile recruits from all over the country. Telling them if they sign they'll pay them 5 or 10 grand to come by the dealership one day and take a few pictures.

It's going to be a bidding war for 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Florida may be way behind with it's coaches recruiting abilities and admin but it's damn sure on par with any school in the country with die hard fans with money.

I really think you are overestimating our boosters. If we had those types of booster don't you think our recruiting would be better?

Cant possibly believe what? That Bammer and others will continue cheating? OF COURSE THEY WILL. Bammer equals cheating, all through history.

Im just telling what the rule is. Boosters and schools are still regulated. EAA sports, Jimbobs Chevy or Yellawood isnt.

Ok, but that's a much different tone than the post I quoted. I'm not debating that cheating goes on. I was simply saying that those boosters and universities will definitely pay the players, including here. Any ideas of it not happening are silly. There's a reason they stopped allowing these guys to hold jobs in the first place. I know of players who "worked" at Gville dealerships and other businesses, despite not ever really doing anything or being there at all. That was my point.

What the fuchs makes you think I told you that? Matbe have someone else read my posts to you. YES, AN ATHLETE CAN SELL HIS LIKENESS.

But schools and boosters cant pay him for it.

You've been so grumpy since the baby came.

Now... all they need is their "likeness" there ... and it can be there 24/7. "Boosters" can launder their money through "charity" events. Endless possibilities. Impossible to track.

Hell...I'm sure Saban already has 100s of Chinese shell corps funneling $$$ into non-profit "likeness" charities tied to BLM. The IRS wouldn't even touch that, much less the NCAA.

Those internships were a great way to skirt the system.... Now they won't have to even play those games.

Of course Florida has those types of boosters. In the past there wasn't a "legal" avenue for them to get money to the kids. I'm sure in the SOS, Zook and Meyer years there were a shyt ton of players getting paid under the table but back then the university cared about winning. I think Florida cares more about academics and appearances than winning that's why we've been falling behind for years. I'm sure the coaches and players are watched closely as well to prevent and problems.

As soon as I saw this pass my first thought was the owner of local car dealership where I live. I've known the guy for over 20 years, didn't go to college, I'm sure he barely made it out of high school. After high school he started working at a local car dealership. 25 - 30 years later he owns over a dozen, has between 500 and 600 employees. Owns multiple other businesses now as well. Die hard Georgia fan. He needs all the tax write offs he can get. I guarantee you he wouldn't blink at spending $200,000 or $300,000 a year extra on "advertisements" if he believed it helped uga win football games. For every one of him there's probably 2 gator alumni/fans willing to do the same. Places like uga and bama are already beating our brains in recruiting, so how much better can they actually get? I think this will just help narrow that gap.
