If it was Marco, then Mullen making him a team captain for the Bama game would be unimaginably stupid. And it was pretty stupid already.

Like playing Franks ahead of Trask? Like keeping Grantham? Like making players like this "Team Captain"?

Why not bring in an unproven D-1 like a JAMEY CHADWELL or KERWIN BELL...Pay them less and use the other money on facilities...If they prove themselves pay them to stay...If not...say goodbye in 2-3 years...At least I'd look forward to the season again.

But keeping what we have now is PURE Stupidity...Tell me again how UF is ELITE?

LOL. Ive never once heard Marco's name.

You.guys have him listed as a co-conspirator in the Jfk killing.

There are multiple reports, citing unnamed sources, that there were four players who elected not to practice: defensive end Zachary Carter and wide receivers Trevon Grimes, Jacob Copeland and Kadarius Toney. All four are projected starters.

Yep and the player is now gone. That is only Toney and Grimes. Wasn’t it Grimes that claimed the coaches didn’t have his back for the draft? Toney went first round and wasn’t a major character red flag even with a couple incidents on campus.

I think we can put the pieces together.

If Mullen "moves on", I'd like to see us take a shot at a big name (but who the F would that be at this point?)...and if we whiff, sure, go get a guy like Chadwell. Why the F not? We hired Ron Zook, Will Muschamp, and Jim McElwain. Unbelievable.

Don't shoot the messenger! I agree w/ SEC14, it was likely Toney or Grimes....but I wouldn't be surprised if Marco was a cancer, and after his shoe throwing stunt it was inexcusable to let him serve as a team captain the following week.

I'd like a a Kerwin Bell Type "O" at least it would be fun to watch.

I go to Church with a GA Dawg...He loves that we kept Grantham...He says he hopes it stays this way for several more years...

Good points. Some of these signs point to Grimes, but if true, his actions don't make any sense. He needed another year to improve his draft stock, which is why he didn't leave earlier. He also was a big contributor in the passing game, which was the most effective, actually only effective, aspect of this team. If we had run the ball 60% of the time like we will this year, then I guess that would explain some of the decisiveness coming from a wr.

It's easy to point the finger at Marco because he's already proven himself to be a selfish imbecile.

Maybe, but he also has a mother who is fairly sick and likely a greater Covid risk. Plus, we saw it as a fairly productive year due to 9 TD's, but the player thinks he is a 5 star, yet he is third on the team in catches and finished with only 538 yards on what was a productive passing attack. He may have been really upset at the usage, plus the shift later in the season from the more free-throwing offense we played pre and through the georgia game, to the post-kirby a$$ stomping to more Mullen ball and then the LSU disaster.

I'm only guessing, but Grimes fits the profile the most. Toney had nearly twice the catches and yards as Grimes. I don't think he was complaining.

EDIT - Grimes also sat out the bowl game, when a similar rationale could have applied to him needing more film and opportunities, especially with Pitts and Toney out. He would have been WR1 for the only time all season.

It was Grimes.
Grimes certainly left pissed.

Im just glad his nonproductive ass left one way or the other. As always, Urban was right in showing him the door.

Fickell should be call #1 when Mullen runs away. However, with the Smiling Starkville Dork in charge, being whispered to by Foley, and controlled by candyass Fuchs, we'll end up hiring some loser reject like a Brady Hoke or Mike Shula.
