You sound like me. No BS. here it is take it or leave it. The back and forth dance is just ponderous. Want a laugh, I just saw a listing here 525K, stale, dropped their price by 10 BUX. Not 10K but TEN DOLLARS. That way it shows up in the price drop section, LOL

We saw that in a couple of Gulfport listings, but drops of $100. That's ridiculous...but it may get some eyes on it that hadn't been.

We're in DC, there's almost 6 million people in the DC metro area - people moving in everyday. Hopefully one of these suckers will see our house and make a reasonable offer.

I'd probably refinance it to a lower rate/lower payment.
Just remember that you won't get an owner occupied interest rate but rather an investment loan which is going to be higher...plus you'll lose your homestead tax exemption which will also raise your monthly payment...just an fyi...

I have a 3.25% on the Arlington house, but there's no homestead exemption in Virginia.

I was just in the Marion County building and zoning office working on a tree removal permit and ask the lady if building was slowing down. She said they are issuing 350+ permits a week which is more than during the 2004-2007 boom and m ost spec houses are sold before building permits are issued. So far the rust belt baby boomer migration has not diminished.

Congress scrambles to extend eviction moratorium expiring Saturday

upload_2021-7-30_19-27-40.png
WASHINGTON — An eleventh-hour scramble Friday by Congress to extend the federal pandemic eviction moratorium appeared unlikely to succeed as President Joe Biden called on state and local governments to step in.

The fledgling effort, which came ahead of the ban's expected expiration Saturday when thousands of people could begin getting kicked of their homes, was faltering in the House by early Friday evening. About a dozen House Democrats opposed the measure and are unwilling to budge, making passage impossible, two senior Democratic aides told NBC News.

"Definitely don't have the votes," one leadership aide said.

House Speaker Nancy Nancy Pelosi and the measure's sponsor, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., were at odds Friday over whether to hold a vote and force members to make their positions known publicly.

Waters wants a vote, which would allow progressive activists to blame specific Democratic lawmakers for its failure, while Pelosi doesn't want to expose some of her caucus members to the wrath of the base,

In a Thursday letter to House Democrats, Pelosi, D-Calif., urged her caucus to support the measure that would extend the moratorium through the end of the year.

“I am writing to call your attention to the imperative for us, the Congress, to meet the needs of the American people: both the families unable to make rent and those to whom the rent is to be paid,” she wrote.

The White House has already said that a recent court ruling means the administration lacks the power to extend the moratorium and pushed responsibility to Congress.

President Joe Biden released a statement that appeared to concede defeat Friday evening.

There's more to it than that. There are tens of thousands of private rental properties that are going to hit the market the minute this is up. It's going to cause major downward price movement in some states and the Gov. would rather the bank take them back slowly so whatever holding company Blackrock uses can buy them for 60% of the current value....Wall Street(Blackrock) has been behind this with the current Admin. in an attempt to squeeze the life out of private investors....these properties will be snapped up before anyone else gets a chance if this happens.

It just never stops. I hope many small landlords were able to get their free loaders out in that small window they had. As much as people thought Prez Tweeter was and wanted to be a dictator, this current version of the Anointed One 3.0 is the best example of pure Authoritarianism that I ever ever seen. Total and Complete control of every second of everyone's life.

Hell they didn't have time to post a 3 day notice....Not a chance with the backlog of cases most counties are going to have. I was told by Seminole County last summer that you could still submit your paperwork but it would not be served until this was over. My roach moved out on their own and I lost 2.5 months rent by the time I got it cleaned up and a new tenant moved in. Some of these roaches will be living and breeding for free for another 6-9 months....and speaking of breeding since they are lying around doing nothing you can bet many will use the " she's pregnant can't kick us out' loophole....

We got an offer on the house that we're likely to accept tomorrow at $680k. Not happy about it, but that's what the market is right now. Probably could have gotten full ask if we listed in March, April, or May.
