Didn't watch more than 5-10 min of the game. Commentators talked about several transfers who greatly improved the nole$ roster. Considering the close game, are they better than we thought? Is noter lame just lame? Did ref$u get help?

Speaking of, I still can’t figure out they still get to parade around a white dude in “red face.” Where’s the outrage?

What the Mrs said while we watched the game.... she said "everything else is off-limits but this fucher comes out in red face on National TV. I fuching hate people."

A bit of both. Norvell can call a consistent offensive game play, but they aren't good. And Notre Dame is like every other Notre Dame team when they face a team with a pulse.

There were at least 6 transfers who played huge roles for FSU, especially Jeramiah Johnson on the DL - he was all over the ND backfield. They are much improved from last season, as much as some people don't want to admit. I also think ND is either "overrated" or they "played down" to FSU (FSU sort of hung w/ them last year, ND didn't cover the spread in either game). I'm not sure how good FSU will be, but they are certainly much improved. It's way too early to write off Norvell - and although they aren't recruiting w/ the big boys, they are certainly doing all they can to leave Mullen and company in their wake.

Norvell can call a game. No doubt about that.

I caught the last quarter of the game, and walked away thinking, "We are so fcuked come November".

ND looked slow where they should have been fast and small where they shoulda been big.

Meh, that was mostly them in the 4th quarter, when their offense couldn't move the ball (due to vanilla kill the clock playcalling)...prior to that, they'd been controlling f$u for most of the previous 3 quarters.

They were largely able to run at will for the first 3/4s of the game and use their mismatch at TE to good effect too.

The nulls got more than a bit lucky on several blown calls (their first long TD run should have been called back for a pretty blatant hold) and midway through the 4th quarter, the refs blew a personal foul call for roughing the kicker that they only called "running into" (despite the guy clearly running into the planted leg) that would have given ND a first down.

Credit to f$u: the transfers have them better than the dumpster fire they've been the past few years and Milton will be an effective QB for them (assuming he stays the starter); but ND had built up an 18 point lead for a reason.

If anything, it shows you why playing super-conservative, vanilla offensive playcalling is just plain dumb in this era of college football and *especially* on the road.

ND isn't built to contend with raw talent. Unfortunately, teams like um and fsu still have that. It's why they can go undefeated against the Pitts and Michigans of the world, even when those teams are solid, but then fall apart against teams with dynamic talent. We saw this a few years back when they went to play at miami as a heavy favorite and were de-pants'd. It didn't mean they were a bad team, nor did it make the canes back(which everyone insisted). It simply meant that their disciplined, solid LBs/DBs and Safetys weren't prepared for what they were going to face. Who exactly was going to mimic a guy like Travis on the scout team? And like we saw Sunday, once it starts sliding they have no answer. It didn't help that even McElroy was questioning the 3 man front when fsu still had enough time to run the ball, especially at 10+ a clip. How funny that the first quarter was a lovefest with the Irish's DC and TE. By game's end, those two almost singlehandedly lost the game for them. Fortunately, Norvell made an even bigger mistake and they got bailed out.

Yep. I fuggin hate f$u almost as much as I hate ugly, so its hard for me to give them credit but I was sadly mistaken when I tuned into this game for the pleasure of watching them get beat down to instead find them actually looking like a well coached football team. Its painful to see where they were a year and a half ago to see that product on the field last night while pondering on where we are at the moment. Mullen is going to be lapped very soon and it is really frustrating.

That's the deal. They had more discipline than any f$u team I've seen in a long time.

Norvell ran off wiLLLLLLLLLLLie’s cancers, quitters, and trouble makers with haste. RB’s from Ta&m and Auburn. Others from UGA, USCe and many other big football schools. QB McKenzie can play for anybody if he stays healthy. The kid just has a refuse to lose mentality. Norvell’s coaches aren’t sitting on their lazy arse surfing the internet. Pisses me off our guys seem to be more worried about vacation like our leader.

Or you’ll cut your dick off, right?

Nah but im not a FSU believer or think Norvell is a good coach still....

I think ND is a bit overrated and people keep forgetting they were waxing FSU for almost the entire game. FSU came out with a lot of emotion and played tough but they will regress to their actual skill level
