Excellent write up, cover2.

One thought I had yesterday, with all of the talk about laws and rules that disproportionately affect or target black people, how has the NCAA been allowed to keep this stupid sit out to play if your helmet comes off rule? I bet you 95% of the cases are players with dreadlocks, which outside of SanFran, St George St in St. Augustine, and an occasional Starbucks, are only on black players. I understand nobody forces them to wear their hair like that, but there’s also nothing really wrong with it. If the intent was to encourage players to strap up, then they should be allowed to stay in if something happens that knocks their helmet off as long as they had both straps buckled. It’s a dumb rule and like someone said, all a team has to do to beat us is find a way to get AR’s helmet off. Even if you give up 15 yards in the process, the results would more than make up for it. Inside the 20 it becomes half the distance and gets the Jones. It’s a no brainer.

Cover 2 another "Breakfast with the Gators" start of my Sunday. Did AR-15 have a cramp or did the hamstring tweak? Thanks for a beautiful write up.
Mullen described the hamstring as having “tightened up” in this article from Saturday’s Down South…

Dan Mullen praises Anthony Richardson’s play, offers update on hamstring

He was also kind enough to praise Richardson, saying he “doesn’t always do the right thing, but he does special things.” The take away most likely is that the injury probably isn’t too serious, but we’ll evaluate it. In the meantime Emory is still the starter until further notice. That is all. Dis-Missed!

@soflagator The helmet issue may have something to do with the hair care products that some of the kids use. As much as a player sweats, it can be a little slippery and makes it easy for the helmet to pop off with contact.

@Zambo I’ve often thought about the negatives you mentioned when having two QBs sharing reps / alternating series. Probably too old fashioned now, but in my coaching days it was widely held that if you had two QBs you had no QB. Too easy to divide your team among loyalties. I guess in a way Dan might be hamhandedly trying to avoid a split by declaring EJ the man. Not sure his method is working real well.

I guess a yak maybe when he played Ghengis Kahn. Interesting tidbit from that movie… part of his makeup was a sort of metallic paint that he had to keep on and inhaled for long periods of time and the Duke believed until his last days that the paint was a carcinogen that was a factor in the cancer that eventually killed him. Of course, being a heavy smoker probably hurt a little.

Prolly a special mix of lead and asbestos in the makeup!

Awesome post Cover 2...can't give it enough likes.

Again on Mullen:

IMHO he's arrogant and extremley STUBBORN. To listen to the Fans would be admitting he was mistaken.
The fans don't get paid to provide input to football decisions. Show up, cheer for the good guys and send money.

His talent evaluations are questionable...this was not an issue under Urban...Meyer did it.
Do you really think Dan can't evaluate talent. He is the one who convinced Meyer that Tebow was a must have.

Mullen was forced to use Trask, he favors age over talent, he can't recruit and he keeps Grantham.
All things being equal, one should always favor seniority over raw talent. However, all things are not generally equal.

He will not bench EJ...were stuck with him.
The kid is a Gator and that means more than trouncing some directional school. We have two QBs ready for bammer and if I had to guess AR is going to be on the field at least as much as EJ. Assuming AR is healthy.

What's most frushstraiting...with a few changes this team has a chance.
See comment one. Dan may be smug, stubborn, and arrogant but he gets paid to win. He'll do what he thinks is required.

Side Note:

I'd at least like to see both on the field at the time.
Pistol with EJ up and AR right behind him. What is a DC to do.

In addition, the film was shot in an area where atomic bombs had been tested. Several cast and crew passed from cancer.

I've always wondered why people think putting two QBs on the field makes even the slightest sense. It just gives the defense one player to completely ignore.

You think EJ runs better than any of our running backs?

Used to call em halfback. But no, just different. QB, running back and a swashbuckling toward the slot.

Really...you'd ignore AR in the flat...Saints did this with T.Hill and it gave DCs fits.

He can catch, run, or throw.
