You never want to play OT if the other has been on a fierce comeback. His whole approach was ridiculous, especially considering we'd only scored one offensive TD the whole game.

That whole week had been an embarrassment. Pretty sure that was the game his BBQ sauce was introduced. And it was definitely the week he played the "hurricane" card in interviews, talking about players losing their loved ones which didn't even happen. And of course all of this in his vintage cracking, on the verge of tears voice. I'd been off the train for a while, but that was the week I started hating the guy.

I remember walking the dog after the game, listening to the post game on Gainesville radio. And the commentator taking calls of whom would replace him. This is less than 30 minutes after the game ended. It was no longer about if he was getting replaced it was when. Because when the Gainesville media has the permission to talk like that, you know they already knew.

Fat Ass Dooley was the only motherfuchser who didn't know the week before. He wrote an article that very day saying anyone who believed Butters was getting fired was a Gidiot.

Then two weeks later he was writing he knew it all along.

What is he doing now anyway? Other than getting chicken wing grease all over his guitar frets.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast ones star can fade as an SEC head coach. Two years ago he won a Natty; last year was crazy because of Covid and they had a very high number of opt outs. This season he lost a close road game to a decent team and beat up on a couple of patsies and is now on the hot seat. Crazy.

Dude is a terrible coach who had one great season because of an awesome OC and DC. It's not like he only has one head coaching job. Ogre has shown that without Brady or Aranda he comes closer to average and the guy he was at Ole Miss. There's nothing particular gameday wise that anyone can say he does well. I know we may want to say he gives good speeches, but are speeches really good if no one can understand him?

Bro, no Steve Russell was in no f***ing way encouraging people to call in after that Tennessee game to talk about replacements. I've told the story before, that after the LSU game I shot a Tweet to his weekday show (it was my last year of law school and had nothing better to do at lunch except piss Russell off at least once a week) asking "how many 100+ ranked offenses are acceptable at UF?" Dude read it and cut a whole segment promo not answering the question, but ranting about how dare I want a coach fired. Note, there isn't a single word about coaches or fired. He had a whole segment about people wanting Mac fired (weeks after Tennessee) and how just asking my question is being a spoiled Gators fan.

Hell, Carbozo earned that name before Vandy that year (two weeks after UT) when he yelled, literally yelled, on the radio to the caller Mike and offered him a whole hour of radio if the UF offense didn't look good against Vandy. Because Vandy is UF's measuring stick. :jerkit: Then they (Bozo, Crucial and Dooley) bragged about us barely beating Vandy (remember Davis ran for a TD at the end instead of going down so the score is not as close as the game).

After A&M, they still went to war, all four of them with callers. Then week of UGA Butters made the "death threats" comment and the whole day was about all the Gidiots. It empowered Russell, Crucial, CarBozo, and Dooley to a whole new level of fan bashing. ALL season they went hard on it was the player's fault and the coaches were the best UF could have.

Point is, I don't know what you think they remember, but since that was a unique semester for me I spent more time listening to Gainesville radio than any point in my life and more than any person shouuld. I wish you were right, but I cannot let anyone misremember the complete douchebaggery of the Gainesville media in 2017.

For anyone who grew up in the 90s, this will be always be a week of concern. It’s on par with Jax and fsu.

See, growing up in the 90's, yes. But with winning 15 of 16 I have less concerns than I did. Where growing up I didn't care about Jax since we owned UGA, it has taken Tennessee's place.

Brady wasn't even his offensive coordinator. somehow he dusted off some offensive coordinator that was fired in the 90s and hadn't even been in football since then. whehhhhhh

At least both of those guys were smart enough to allow Brady to be the magician.

I'm not misremembering, but you are also not talking about the same time that I am. He might have gotten his marching orders after that call. It would not be the first time the Gainesville media got out of line and then got told their access would be removed if they didn't tow the company line. Also a difference in watching that 4 hour schit show and hosting a show, and tweeting at him mid week after the emotions were settled.

Russell was accepting calls right after that game. I remember is vividly because we were a one loss team with an exciting win and every caller was talking about how it was time to move on, not the excitement of the win. Russell (who I couldn't remember his name earlier) would start off by great win, but this isn't the standard that is acceptable.

That was my 1st game as well. It was brutal but I've been a fan ever since. I was 12 or 13 at the time.
I’m with you on this. My first Gator game in person was that awful beat down in Neyland in SOS’s first season. I came to dislike them at that point; living in Tennessee for five years made me hate them. I also know a bunch of Vols fans and have thoroughly enjoyed rubbing their nose in it every year. They have become so defeatist that the one year they beat Butters they took it easy on me as they had no expectations of a winning streak.
