Anyone else up for a volunteer assistant position with the women's swim team? Where do you get an application.

Nope...not at all. Its great for the program to have people like that working out around campus. Ive coached swimming before (and running and cycling) and there isn't a whole lot of 'coaching' going on at this level. I mean, yeah, its coaching but its not a team sport and it is purely technique and fitness. Im not even sure they will have her in the lane with the college kids but I am sure the smart kids will be watching and observing everything she does and our coaches will take advantage of it.

In the mid/late 90s I was coached by Coach Mouse for a bit... excellent coach.. able to really teach the details that removes the small things that make a difference.

Ledecky won’t coach. As a volunteer. Or offer any sort of advice..to the coach that trains her for the Olympics..and that may get him fired if his team doesn’t do well.

You cannot be serious!

She aint gonna train anyone. She just wants a pool to swim in and a coach to coach her.
Because there’s no other place in the world where she can get that…….

She is training for Paris. She wants to be coached by Nesty. 'Volunteer coach' means free pool to swim and train in. I bet she isn't the only one moving to town to start training.

"Having completed my college degree this year, I am moving east to be closer to home and family," Ledecky, 24, said in her post on her move to Gainesville. "I've decided to train at the University of Florida with Coach Anthony Nesty and the outstanding mid-distance and distance training group there. I'm looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in the next phase of my swimming career."

Which makes her massive weight gain even more astonishing.

With the required training to win more Gold, she will lose those 10 pounds.
She will draw publicity praise to our UF swim program. "The winners come here, not elsewhere."
