She always has a significant special place in my life. In spite of wokeism and Fuchsism.
Wokeism, Fuchism, Fooleyism, Strickism, Chumpism, Sharkism, and Douchebagism are temporary. None of those people are Gators. They are just here til we fire them or they get another job.

Lived in High Springs and sold cokes at the Gator games in the mid-late 60's.
A friend of mine went and sold cokes too and would bring home 10-15 bucks ,while I sold a case and sat down in the old wooden bleachers in the south endzone and watched the game. Mom never understood why my friend would bring money home and I would come home broke after after we went by Chandlers and got a hamburger.

Well I was not a Gator fan until I attended and not a very involved one until the internet allowed me to be one.

Gotta be a true Gator fan if who we play each Saturday rules your week. Toss those other dull days aside ... bring on Saturday ... and night games are an anathema to wait for. 3:30 works best.

Jmskr is now one of my favorite posters.........old people dont get old being stupid. Lots of dead young ones that thought they knew it all.

I was right there with you, RR. We sold suckerbait right outside on that triangle by the light and then went in with our employee tickets to watch the games. Made money and saw most of the game.

Years ago when I first started I thought many were trolls from other team just having fun with the Gators. Eventually I realized nobody would commit themself to this level of posting and have this much knowledge of the team.

I eventually accepted it was just the difference in how we express our passion for the Gators.
I simply cannot have a bad experience with Gator sports. If we can’t go….we throw a party. We are raising hell and partying hard. We might be yelling at coaches to put in AR or Grier or whoever but we are having a great time.

There is another extreme that I picture locked in their mothers basement all alone breaking down plays and blowing a gasket every time a DB doesn’t turn his hips right. They love the gators but cannot enjoy the game because of the breakdowns.

Everyone else here is somewhere in the middle of that and love their Gators in their own way.

I will add this….social media changes how folks interact i.e. I’d rather be in the Salty Dawg than a message board.

How many times is jmsk going to quit the board?

I really dont understand the mentality of "hanging out" in a place that you cant stand

I did the exact same thing in ‘67 and ‘68 to include sitting down. I think I worked past the first quarter only a couple of times.
I told myself that UF paid me $10 to watch the game.

Unfortunately some on here aren’t. I’m 76 years old and I have ALWAYS been a Gator fan.

Sure. Nalt is a Bammer, DaytonaCane is a Cane, there might be one or two others. I suspect at least one of us is a closet Nole pretending to be a Gator.

That's about it though.

Everybody else around here is a true-blue Gator.

You're making a huge mistake if you confuse criticism of players, coaches, or the administration with not loving the Gators.

Nobody b!tches about Mullen more than Swonk. He loves the Gators. Nobody hates Jeremy Foley more than FireFoley. He loves the Gators too. You think you love the Gators more than Ox? He owns a Gator message board.

Being satisfied with the mediocrity of Zook or Champ or Butters, or the awful play of Treon Harris, or Foley's disgraceful facilities doesn't make you a real Gator or a better Gator than the ones who aren't satisfied and openly criticize that.

I don't care how old you are. You don't love the Gators one iota more than me.

If you want to criticize the criticizers, go ahead. Tell them they're unreasonable. Tell them the coaches need more time and the players need more experience. Those are all perfectly valid arguments.

But don't tell them they aren't real Gators.

Alex.
