If we don’t look like the laughingstock of the country applying Bandaids and Mercurochrome to a mortally wounded patient, but esp in light of it not having the blessing of the now lame duck head coach who’s become a puppet for the clueless higher ups.

Scott Stricklin needs to have his scrawny administrative sorry ass taken to the wood shed. The putz.

This is a huge pile of s hit. No way this helps anything. It only prolongs the inevitable.
but it really doesn't make any sense regardless.

firing them now and firing Mullen in 3 weeks doesn't make any sense.

firing them now and firing another four or six staffers in 3 weeks and keeping Dopey Dan doesn't make any sense.

it seems more like a Mundee Morning temper tantrum desperation, or maybe when those guys were told the news of what's happening in 3 weeks they just said screw it I'm leaving now.

You can guarantee though that Dan Mullen had in mind to hire another Adazzio type offensive line coach to help Hevesy, rather than fire him.

This is a knife right to Dopey Dan's heart, if Stricklin indeed did it.

Great point.

This is what happens when you put lifelong administrators in charge of a major P5 program. They know only one thing, how to administrate and turn a profit that’s handed to them on a gold plate.

Stricklin wouldn’t know how to handle this situation if you handed him detailed instructions labeled How to Fire a Bad Football Coach. He’s too close to Mullen, too vested, and more than anything he’s in way over his head when it comes to these types of decisions. He doesn’t understand football.

Jay Jacobs - Executive Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs - Staff Directory - Florida Gators

it wouldn't surprise me for him to be the acting athletic director.

The gator country people seem extremely concerned that he will just hire Malzahn, again. He is tight with Chizik too, despite firing him.

I’m definitely thinking Malzahn would be in play, if I read it correctly, his buyout is 7 million if he leaves before the end of the calendar year. Then reduces by 2 million.

I can see it now....the new interim AD for the University of Florida....JEREMY FOLEY!!!

He will begin the search for a new head football coach immediately. In the meantime, we also begin the search to find a permanent athletic director to replace Stricklin.

I mentioned this a few weeks ago when the news of Strichnine surfaced of sweeping the women's Bball issue under the rug. I said when they ship him out they will bring in Fooley as Interim, they are paying him anyway, and this is exactly how an incompetent admin thinks. They just keep moving around the same stench and keep wondering why they can't get rid of the stench. Fire a failure, but bring back a guy who was equally as big a failure, regardless of how long it is for.

Christmas come early baby. And for those of us in the Chosen Tribe, we will call it Chanukkah gifts. 8 nights, 8 staff changes, Now that would be a holiday to remember and celebrate!

Sounds like a perfect plan.
Came we choose the order of the firings, er gifts?

These two firings are good news, but it still doesn’t eliminate the elephant in the room which are the AD and the head coach. The head coach should be gone for not getting rid of the dead wood on his staff after last season and his continued failing on the recruiting trail year after year. The AD needs to go for a variety of reasons, one of which is his actions that are turning our athletic program into the crapfest that is Miss State.

and it looks like the two men most directly responsible will stay while two coaches who are symptoms of the underlying problem get scapegoated two years late when it means nothing more than half measures now.

getting rid of only two turds from the bowl doesn’t get rid of the guy producing this crap.

This is standard procedure in academia for how to pretend to fix problems they created.
