Mullen: sideways offense and “virgin for life” demeanor. Nope.
Virgin for life? His freaky wife was sticking her tongue in every male that walked within 10 feet. I guarantee you she has invaded every orifice of his also at least a few times.

If Napier has already been hired, I'd like to know how long the interview was and what were hard hitting questions. It's barely more than 24 hours. Did strick check for a pulse and offer immediately?
He's got Foley in his ear telling him how to do it. With Zook he called Stoops and supposedly Shannahan, before magically deciding on Zook, who was way out of left field. Muschamp was supposedly number 3, but we know it was really his first call. Then came the butters hire. He literally three a dart at a map, hit Colorado and looked at which coach would be cheapest. Not a single person on Earth thought Butters was going anywhere major, but we managed to bid against ourselves. It's like they have to try and find the next "guy" so they can be called a genius, but it's like Wyle E. Coyote always having the anvil drop on his head.

What makes him a retard? His accent? You guys have lost your freaking minds.

Well he doesn’t talk well. For sure. But it has nothing to do with his accent.

But it has everything to do with his history. His offense is 58% rushing! You all thought Mullen’s offense was terrible? Wait until you see his.

he was fired from Clemson because his offense sucked. He then left Bama to go be the OC for who? BUTTERS!

He then was OC for a head coach for one year before that coach was fired. Went back to Bama and then went to Louisiana.

He’s never been a P5 head coach. He’s never been a successful OC.

Everybody talks about his time with Saban. He was just an analyst and a WR coach. I guess maybe he was a good recruiter for Saban? But who isn’t? That program is a machine.

So how do people know how good of a recruiter he is?

It’s like we’re in the land of crazy.

Kiffin comes with baggage and probably wouldn't be long term. But we know that we know he can win in the SEC . He's been up and down his whole career but you're gonna some double digit win years and some explosive offenses at the very least.

that just sounds like Dan Mullen with extra steps :)

Pretty much the same conclusions I came to when I looked at him. Exactly what am I supposed to be excited about? Didn't we just fire the same guy?

Look. Napier might be really good. He may be great. But can we not agree that there are at least 5 or 6 candidates that we can look at first? It’s only been a day!

This is Butters/Cousin Eddie 2.0 Guys already trying to talk themselves into believing we've got the next Bear Bryant on the hook while in the same breath listing out all the things that "if he does this" he "might be great." Oh my Lord somebody perform an intervention on these people.

We’re getting sucked into this Nick Saban coaching tree thing again.

I’d like to think that Stricklin is playing some 4d chess and has started all these Slingblade rumors to force LSU to throw money at him instead while we secretly hire our guy.

But then I remember Stricklin can’t even properly cover up a former coach smackin’ around some wimminz hoops players…

Honestly, we have no idea whether Lane Kiffin can win the games that matter in the SEC. The evidence suggests he cannot. Dan Mullen has been closer against Alabama in his two tries than LK, and also has the head to head. At both ut and now at OM, he’s beaten the teams he should beat and lost the ones in question. It was exactly the same at USC. We just fired that.

Well I don’t know about that. He lost to a bunch of teams he shouldn’t have this year.

His recruiting at Louisiana is subpar and that is generous.

Wile E Coyote. Perfect analogy for Fooley. He lucked into Billy D in low risk men's basketball and fancied himself king-maker by finding the diamond in the rough. The AD equivalent of 3-star whisperer. I pray Stricklin isn't that arrogant or foolish. It's probably hopeless.

Don't you worry, pal. We're gonna keep hiring saban assistants until we get saban results. It's gonna work eventually.

Like Auburn?

I’m just saying the departure is not nearly what some have convinced themselves of. You are what your record shows, to quote someone here. He’s above average. Nothing definitive to say anything more than that. I’d rather take a shot with someone who may be great. Otherwise I’m not sure why we made a move at all.
