Napier has no interest in the LSU job. He's already accepted the UF job.

I have to disagree with you on this one. He may have the job, but he has interest in LSU. He knows LA area well for recruiting and knows its a good spot and hour away for family. With that said, if he does take UF, I expect to finally land a few LA kids

Offensive guys fit our culture... that is the thing. In any organization culture is important. If you get a guy that is not going to fit the culture, just because he can recruit and win but it's a bunch of 14-3 games. He will get burned out of here so fast. Because the margin for error is nil.

Lord I hate to agree with Doug......

He’ll flame out under the pressure cash his buyout check and we’ll be doing this again in 4 years

Swamp Donkey is hilarious, wanting to be the "cool kid" now and go along with the mob. He wasn't that down on Napier at all until he saw others trashing him, then he jumped right in.
No, what I read about his offense is not at all what his offense looks like during the games.

Again, very Chump like. The spin is "multiple and aggressive" the game film is 1970s Georgia.

Perhaps we should wait and see about what staff he's getting, particularly on offense, before we hire someone to have him shot on the tarmac.

Stricklin knows about the fan bases' obsession with offense.

He is 5-0 this year in one score games.
He was 6-1 in one score games in 2020.
11-1 in tight games doesn’t last.

That averages out over time. He’s been lucky. Take the App St missed FG after he couldn't do 5-2=3 level math. Luck goes away. Would any of you be wanting this guy is he was averaging 3-4 losses, because that’s what the scores suggest he is. A 3-4 loss guy with a lot of recent luck.

Take Urban for example. Not a single one score win in his undefeated 2004 season.

Not all records are the same.

Best thing Napier has going is that he is not from my bucket of shyte list that results in me being done watching: Clawson, Campbell, and Mark Stoops.

Deuce I maybe mean as hell, but I stick to simple principles... and they are right 95% of the time. You listen to the words Mullen used and how he acted you knew he was going to fail. Because he is a failed leader. Culture and Leadership are important especially at the top spot in a top 5 organization.

I think if the search had been started much earlier, it would be awfully difficult for someone outside the AD’s to not know about it.
there were a few buzzes about us looking at other coaches.

Other fanbases getting nervous hearing that we were inquiring about this or that guy.

Yep. Ol' Sling Blade Napier will be missing two critical vocabulary words in his push for a rebuild: "downfield" and "speed." Youtube up this guys games. They redifine slow and plodding. Even Vanderbilt will be feeling sorry for us before its over.

Fellas, then stop watching. Stop coming to Gatorchatter. Go build Ghostbusters props in your man cave.

I'm not spending the entire summer in here with everyone being insufferable. Life's too short.

What an awful move culturally to bring in a no-nonsense hick to run the program. He’ll be at odds from the get-go with the state media. This is not the Deep South.

And that’s what they are, feelers about feelers.

Because our last few coaches were right in lock-step with the state media? Don't understand this take. What's the culture? To sit back and be lazy and let the inmates run the asylum?

If ever this destroyed program needed a no-nonsense hick, it's now.

My God
What an awful, uninspiring, low bar hire.
Disgusting.
A damn McElwain acolyte.
We needed a splash, we didn’t even get a ripple.

Oh well, if this slow ball, run, run, run, punt damned offensive genius is our choice, I’ll support him 100%.

I hope he proves me wrong.

I'm confused are we talking about Stricklin or Slingblade.
