If you do any linguistic research, you will find the dialect spoken by southern Scots-Irish settlers is more like the English spoken in the 1he 1700s than the English spoken in England. All good American novels have their origins in southern culture. The southern plantation culture gave rise to the most genteel and well-mannered people in the Republic. It is the only example of an aristocracy where educated folks can use time to think and elucidate on the condition of the body politic and hypothesize solutions to the problems found.Exactly.
