Most of us are cautiously optimistic about Napier. We love the focus on recruiting, the work ethic, and the organization. Generally more excited about the emphasis on recruiting, less excited about Napier as a play caller.

We have a recruiting thread, but I was hoping you might give us your big-picture impression on the new staff going forward. Will recruiting finally rise to produce consistent top 10 classes? How long might that take?

Not so fast...I watched a few Cajun games.

One thing for sure, they had way less flags and the OL generally held their blocks. I never saw a player throw a shoe or block his own man.

Agree with this. Kind of goes with my quarterback thoughts, but him being in charge of the offense is the biggest concern. Likewise with Golden. He hasn't coached against the big boys every week, so interested to see if he actually can. I'm really optimistic about Napier and cautiously optimistic about Golden.

Well they are. Afterall, it was all us meanies that caused things to go bad. If we had just been more supportive he would have recruited better, coached better, taken fewer vacations, hired better assistants, made better program and player decisions, been more professional with the media, and agreed to a much lower contract salary, you see.
