Correct--the line has moved several times and is likely to continue to move. Utah's a good team and coming off a Pac 12 Championship; Florida's at home with a very talented QB.

Not sure why it matters so much to you to predict that the betting powers that be will unanimously be predicting a UF win.

I'm optimistic Florida will win and have stated so; as have others. Why does it matter what the bookies think--especially since they get things wrong quite frequently; and this game's been in the "toss up" category for quite some time?
It matters because several asshats here think we have absolutely no shot at a victory, despite being the actual favorite.

Take any bet where the books are giving the Gators points. Start the season with some extra money in your pocket.

I get that--but nothing in my posts even remotely suggested that. Quite the opposite, I've listed several reasons I think we can and will win.

Focus on the positive ox, focus on the positive...:pumper:

More than anything I'm interested in the play calling from our staff. Does anyone know if Utah plays a lot of zone on defense? If they do(to spy AR) do we try and out pound them and pick our spots with the medium/long passes? If so our WR's have to get the jitters out and not drop passes.
I know we "should" have the talent/speed advantage but that could very well be offset by experienced discipled players on the other side. Do we try and stretch the field early and often?
Jack Napier has it together. AR will exploit the spy no problem and we’ll give the ball to Lingard and Montrell for funzies/opportunities. Pearsall gets 2-3 TDs to keep his jersey #

So, what does Utah think that they have to prove.? ... against a 6-7 team.?
A team with a new non-SEC head coach.? They face a team that was coached to be rudderless over at least the last 3 -4 years. Teamwork was helter-skelter, "what to do"? Utah cannot possibly know how we will respond.? Us Gator fans can't know our own team. Hasn't the Gator team just been imported in all its many parts.? All that we can do is hang-glide on fan faith. Are we hanging well as supportive fans.?

Lingard hasn’t done sh!t yet so I wouldn’t crown him. Nayquan I trust, etienne I’m hoping is the next monster to come through

Ok, not yet crowned but still consistently recognized at Spring practices by multiple independent media members for superior performance throughout the Spring. Do we not trust them? Full faith in Nayquan as a playmaker for us so long as his ankle is no longer an issue for concern

The dynamics on our end are very different, but if the point is that a less talented but well coached and motivated team is dangerous, it’s a fair point. Wittingham has done a great job with them since Meyer left.

I agree with you that we’ll be an entirely different team on opening day.
I agree; Utah is a solid team who could come in and wreck CBN’s debut, but the UCF comparison was weak.

BTW - Im predicting a Gator victory and will be present. Already have our hotel and Mrs. G’s sorority sis is providing the tix!

Mind boggling that there are gators fans worried about a game in the Swamp in early September against Utah. The right guy wins that game without a sweat.

I see it as strength vs. strength. I am hoping that Raymond has those DB's ready to lockdown that WR and hopefully we'll have the skill to hang with those TE's and I am thinking we will. The Key for me and it is as Napier has been saying the trenches. If we get a rush against them it will be key. With being in the Swamp they won't be able to hear a thing. I fully feel this is on the D to set the tone and as you listed get a huge rush. This is really all on Utah with the pressure. It sets up really nice for UF in my opinion.

I expect them to run a lot of quick passes & of course they will see if we’ve learned to stop the run, especially the counter. Their QB is efficient - 67% completion rate.

So yes, the rush is critical plus hands up to bat down those short passes.

Why would you assume I was talking about you? Generally speaking, I do all I can to forget you exist.

There's getting on the new guys bandwagon and then there's pure homerism. This is an example of the latter. Utes are a legit top 10 team. It's going to take some time to wash the rot and stench off this football team. We are a very bad team with low talent, low depth, little discipline and that doesn't change over night. Forgive me if I don't believe we will be kicking down the door day 1 of season 1 under Napier. I know, I know... Nape could be the next Saban and in year 1 win it all, err... uh, I mean go 6-6 and lose to G5 at home, bc that's what Saban did.

In all seriousness, I firmly believe this was a very good hire and quite possibly the one that turns the page on 15 years of misery, but that doesn't mean I think we're beating a conf champ in the first game. I'm such a hater
HERE'S an example of the kind of posts I was talking about. This one is cringe-worthy.
