Question about moving back to Florida

Same thing here.

When I retired I moved back to Gainesville but if I was still working, Tampa would be the place for me.
It has everything good that Orlando has and much less of the negatives.
I could list all the advantages but I would get writers cramp.

Even the airport is ten times better than the Orlando disaster they call an airport.
I would suggest that you strongly consider the Tampa Bay area.
I agree with double Gator Dad OR go across the bridge to St. Pete (less traffic, hustle & bustle). My son has to live near an major airport with his job also and much prefers Tampa vs. Orlando airport.

St. Pete and south is prolly the best Florida has to offer.

First of all, you’re way, way off. Secondly, this thread was from July 24th. The OP has gone silent indicating he’s already moved by now. The last thing this guy needs as he’s unpacking boxes in his 8ft ceiling, ‘50s built home in Holly Hill is to hear how nice the beaches are in Naples.

I thought digging up old threads was what we do here.

All this time I thought it was about finding a weakness and picking at it until we are out of jokes.
And then picking at it some more for years to come at every opportunity.

Update from my exploration in and around Orlando. Canvased the area. Didn't see anything that jumped out at me, other than... unless you are middle aged and play or have Disney fetish... fairly quite, family friendly place. People love their golf.
  • Lake Nona area seemed like a good place
  • Winter Park has potential...
  • St Cloud... well, I didn't spend a lot of time here because I'm not sure I needed to... :eek3:
  • Cocoa Beach .. again, like St Cloud... a little too much like where I grew up.
Next visit will be in the South Florida area.

Just a word to the wise, everyone loves the Riviera, and everyone loves the Beach. Combine those two things and you’re home. Rachel’s an exit south(45th St. another option for you) and Russo’s one exit north. Perfect. This is where you need to be.

You should consider heading west instead of south.
The Tampa area is worth the look

Depends.

Cuban? 7/10 Ditto for Columbians, Venezuelans, and some others.

Puerto Rican? 2/10 on a good day if they talk s-l-o-w. Struggle with Dominicans too.

Alex.

Dominicans(and PR’s) aren’t that difficult really. Just imagine that every word stops one syllable shy of what it actually it, or at least doesn’t enunciate the final sound.

“I bought a plan…put it in the groun…pero it die cause I forgot to water it whe I gahh the Covi…”
