Save time to drive for our own FG if they make it and tie the score?
I would have agreed had the snap not lost them 15 yards. That is the entire point. They are now looking at 50+ and scurrying instead of a 30 yarder. Your answer is only plausible if they had not just lost 15 yards on their own. Making them use their next to last timeout on that bad snap was the only answer. UF helped them out. I disagree with your thought but would have understood it after a normal play

We got lucky….again….

Yep. If they don’t shoot themselves in the foot multiple times with turnovers in the first half, they win this game by 10+ points. We couldn’t stop their run game, despite their QB being very little of a threat to beat us with his arm.

How many of the KOKKsuckers in the media will challenge Sling Blade on some of the mental mistakes that were clearly on his shoulders tonight? My guess is none. that AR INT in the endzone is 100% on Sling Blade. Taking that TO ON USF's botched shotgun snap was on Sling Blade. Some of those pass coverages when USF was running the ball down our throats was on Sling Blade. At some point you have to put 9 guys in the box and say throw it!!!

Again...year 1 after Butters and Cousin Eddie.
It was ugly...but unlike past years, it was an ugly WIN.

****ing lucky to escape this is a bad team with good luck

This is a Butters type or Cousin Eddie type win. Look like shyt in many areas, especially the coaching, but the record looks better than the team actually is. Which lulls the transient fans (meaning scoreboard watchers) to be fooled. I just hope we don;t have to endure 3 years of it like we did with Butters and Cousin Eddie.

My answer is plausible regardless. It wasn’t 4th down after the bad snap, it was 3rd down, so your whole concept of them “scurrying” to get the FG unit on the field in a panic situation is non-existent. You’re confusing the downs and what actually happened.

Again you miss the point. By scurry I mean mentally. It is about process. It was 2nd down and they had 2 TO's left. After that snap make them use a TO, leaving them with only one TO. My point is that if on 3rd down they somehow make another 1st down, they are left with TWO TO's and a much greater opportunity to go for a TD than a tying FG. I realize it is a macro thought, and not a single play thought. We just differ.

I’ve never seen a team snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like that before in my life.

This still feels like a loss. They dominated us except for the solid play of the run game.
Didn't we win some like this with Chump and Butters? At least Mullen did beat some of the cupcakes in a blowout, except Furman

I still don’t understand why Billy called timeout after the bad snap? That is terrible coaching.

There was nothing wrong with doing that. After the bad snap, it was 3rd down for USF with about 38 seconds on the clock. They weren’t in any rush or hurry.

If you want to complain about anything with Billy using that timeout, it’s that he waited until about 7 seconds bled off the clock before he called it. From the Gators‘ point of view, you either use the timeout and commit to playing to win by leaving time for one last drive if USF ties it up, or you let the clock run down before USF attempts the FG and accept going to OT if USF ties the game up.
