I was on board the Napier bandwagon, but this loss was just inexcusable. What I can't stand is the lack of competitive fire or drive. Its like he has no concept of what a rival is or what one has to do to reliably beat teams in the SEC. The only thing I think he really seems to care about is mentoring these kids and turning them into good people. That's not gonna get it done.

I’ll be the first to admit that this is a residual impact. But today was complete failure to do your job. Do you know what would make me feel better? If Napier would give up this week’s salary. There are homeless people under 75 who accomplished more this week than he did. The 95 people likely doubled his productivity. Show some balls and win this fan base back.
I get it. Really, I do. But imagine a scenario where you are the coach, and the players did everything great in practice, yet on game day these stupid fuching teeny boppers are dropping passes and committing stoopid penalties and nothing you do seems to get them out of this funk.

It happens to all coaches. Sometimes it IS the players. Hell I’m sitting here watching as South Carolina is beating the Vols….how in the fuchs is that happening? UGA squeezed by Kentucky today. What? How?

I’ll tell you how. These are stupid kids.

Now if in the future inconsistency is consistent, then he can be shown the door.

When you've lost sofla...

That’s the thing. The staff hasn’t completely lost me. But you can’t have complete mental collapses like today, complete lack of preparation like today and do stupid things like we’ve seen throughout the season. It seems like I’m some hard ass, but I’m really not. Just don’t be idiots and try to go pass-centric against a team when we have run as well as we have. Don’t let people leave when we may end them because(shocker) they don’t fit your perfect ideology. There’s just a lot of basic business in running a football team and we keep trying stupid things just because. That is what I’m
Over.

I haven't written Napier off yet, but next year better see huge strides with his in game management. I definitely want to see a new QB at the helm next year. AR is too frustrating to watch, I wish him well, but I hope he's encouraged to try his luck in the draft or the Portal. If Billy is truly honest with himself, then he'll see his need to get a real play caller in here, just concerned he'll be too stubborn to admit it.

Over the last year, we've had several members just up and leave the board when I said something insulting to them (comparing you to MattM is quite an insult, one of my worst ever and maybe over the line). They didn't used to be so thin-skinned, but it's a trend now. Two of them PM'ed me to tell me to "please delete my account". :rolleyes3:

Personally I think a lot of die-hard Gator fans have become more casual fans because of perpetual mediocrity. Maybe that's why, they just don't care enough anymore.
They’re closet dems. They can spew hatred, but they sure as hell can’t take it.

No I get that. But we pushed a WR out of this class, presumably for a better option like Chai Thai, so can’t complain about bodies. That was WM’s MO. My guess is we could’ve used him today.
I have no idea what the backstory was on why that guy got the boot, but I do know that his absence today is not why we lost.

Zero chance.

No, I get that. We lost for much bigger reasons. I’m just saying the lack of bodies, which we’ll hear about next year too, isn’t valid if we’ve actively turned kids away. Much less a top player.

I agree, but if the kid was any kind of prima Donna, as a brand new coach, CBN may have been right to take a hard pass.

Napier never spoke with him, other than having staff text him, even after Gibson affirmed his commitment, and then asked him to hold off on signing so they could review his film. My question at the time was what could it hurt to keep him? No chance in hell in he’s not better than Whole Foods

I have to believe there’s more to the story. Wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong tho.

Probably another guy AR would overthrow by 5 yards.
