USF screwed up. They should’ve gotten Sanders.

I think they’re over being the springboard job. Obviously, it’s their reality but I think they see Dion as being short lived there. Technically speaking, there’s nothing that Colorado can’t provide. So it’s a riskier move for him, but actually a pretty savvy one.

Hey folks, remember, we have a tentative home/home with Colorado in 2028/2029. Might have to replace them on the schedule after the NCAA gives them the death penalty.

The one thing USF can offer that Colorado can't is WEATHER. Deion ain't a cold weather guy, he's going to freeze his balls off.

I just did a quick look on Rivals at Colorado's recruiting over the last few years.

Between 2017 and 2021, they signed a total of eight blue chip players, with none currently committed in the '22 class. Of those eight, one - yes, one - is still on the roster.

I may have not been as blunt as Deion was in his first meeting with the players, but he's not wrong in assessing he wouldn't lose much by encouraging guys to hit the portal. He'll certainly be able to promise early playing time to any recruit.

It’s a recipe for disaster. You’ve essentially alienated an entire room full of players that you will unquestionably have to rely on at least this upcoming season. This notion that he’s the only good recruiter or the only coach players will want to play for is vintage Deion Sanders. I’m not against tough talk and changing culture, but there are ways of doing it that don’t laughingly encourage an entire team to leave. The Louis comment alone shows what an absolute clown this guy is.
I think you guys are missing the point. He's looking at a room full of not very talented white guys. He's going to field a team that looks much more like what he had at Jackson State. And keep in mind that only about half of the players who enter the portal actually get picked up by another team so you can technically turn over the majority of your roster in a single year, which is what he plans to do.

This is no "dig deep and grind" life lesson he's trying to instill. He is telling them you may have gotten a scholarship from the last staff but it has officially been revoked so get an early start looking for a new home.

I do get it. You could make the same argument about our roster this year. But you still need bodies, and he may end up needing some of those less than stellar guys this upcoming season. Even Trevez Johnson had a critical pick for us against Usf this year that saved that game. Reggie Lewis in 2005. On and on.

I actually don't know what to expect from Deion at a Power 5 program. And Bolder Colorado is about as polar opposite as Jackson Mississippi as you can get, so it seems like a strange landing spot. But I know this, he is a scumbag that will push whatever limited rules and regulations remain on building a team, and he's as loud as a carnival barker and extremely charismatic in his over-the-top egotistical style. He's going to resonate with a lot of recruits and portal players. And he's going to be able to get parents, who are going to instantly recognize him as some kind of celebrity, on his side. He's not selling the SWAC now. The only barrier I see for him is he is going to have to recruit the South along with everywhere else if he wants to get the best talent, but it is going to be tough for parents who want to watch their kids play. Still, I can't stand the guy but don't agree with Ox. I expect he will have them winning pretty quickly.

So make it official - what will be their regular season record next year? I'm going with 3-9.
