I would say the only time that a team is able to overcome blue Chip ratio ‘s Depth issues is if they have stellar QB play.

Like A&M with Manziel.

It can work the other way around like it has with Georgia under Kirby.

But when it comes all together, like under the multiple years with Saban, or Burrows with LSU, or Tebow with us, it’s an unstoppable juggernaut.

I will say that the top talent that Napier is getting are QBs. Which is the most important position on the field. We haven’t seen that since Meyer.

I’ve seen people try to compare it to Driskel, but that was a weird QB class. There were no stand out high school QBs that year, and Driskel started at Oviedo. Which I believe was a school that had just opened up and it was in a very weak district. And he had the same issues he had in college. Mediocre throwing the ball but deadly with his legs.

Agree on Driskel. Top QB in the county and only 4*. That says it all. Terrible QB class.

So we're 4th?

3rd. With only Alabama and Georgia ahead in blue chip ratio. That’s damn good for his first full cycle. It’s very clear BN only wants top shelf talent and isn’t filling half the class with class with 3*s like Tennessee and a Miami.

Ohio state is ahead of us in percentage.

In 2012, we had 2 future NFL QBs, a great OL(also containing NFL players, 2 RBs that would spend time in the league, a receiver so athletic he could switch to DB at the next level, and an all world defense. And we beat Jax State 21-0.
Don’t forget about the blocked punt to beat ULL on the final play of the game

Wasn’t of the year that we lost to Missouri something like 40 to 10? And only gave up like 100 yards on defense?

That was 2014. 2012 was the year we lost 1 regular season game. I’ll never forgive Jordan Reed for it either

It was also the year we used up a decades worth of football luck. And here we are - 2022.

The football gods keep score.

Chump with a good OC that he would let call plays could have done wonders. I remember Kerwin offered but demanded control of the offense...no deal.

We should have done anything we could have to get SOS back then.

Don't forget the historically great defense, full of Urbs recruited players, coached by Dan Quinn.
