My Lord, I'd still take Billy 8 days a week over that idiot. In two years or less, LSU will be in our rear view mirror on every single front.
Interesting.
I disagree.

Not saying I like the guy or wish we hired him but, you can’t argue with the results.
He had LSU in Atlanta his first season.

In fact, his win in the Swamp was a bad omen for me going forward.

Yeah, ok.
You’re like that arrogant prick that thinks he know’s everything about everyone, based off a post on a message board he disagrees with.
Umm who is the one calling who an arrogant prick? Such a delicate flower or snowflake you are.

As Ox said, sure, we missed on some, and its ok to lament those loses, but you can also say we have the 4th best class in the nation. Can take different perspectives. Bottom line, results will be forthcoming in the next 2 years and then final determination will be made.

I’m not the one who’s all twisted up about a difference in opinion.
Good lord, this ain’t Swamp gas.

Nice goal posts move to the 4th best class??
Please, just stop.
12th

I do agree we will find out in the next two years.
Either this guy can coach and recruit, or we will be searching yet again.

My God, I want some damned stability.
But, I don’t want stability with mediocrity.

This!

Who wouldn't love to have the #1 class. And yes our avg player rating is at 4th as you state. We also asked that we exceed 92 and we did that. And still have the rest of the cycle to go.

There is no pleasing some people. Given the last 15 years or so this was an improvement that is just a fact. 1000 mile journeys begin with the first step.

Hopefully, we will pick up a few more and add from the portal.

But, In your opinion, will recruiting classes, outside the top ten, get us to where we all want to be?

I thought you guys were all in on Napier tearing everything down and rebuilding the program?

Will 12th ranked recruiting classes rebuild us into a top 5 , perennial SEC and NC title contenders?

I like this class, but I wouldn’t get too excited about the player ranking avg with only 20 players. If CBN adds any more players on NSD, given who is available, that avg is likely to go down. And he needs to add some more.

Billy didn't just recruit players, he recruited families. Strong, stable families with solid kids that will learn, assimilate and improve from coaching. This approach elevates the upside of the kids and the team overall. Sure, we miss out on kids like Cormani McClain but that in itself improves the performance and potential of the team.

26 of the Rivals 250 are still unsigned. I see us getting all 26.

Jordan Hall and Desmond Ricks announce today. We shouldn’t get either. But fingers crossed.

No. This is what I am saying. With only taking 20 and we have that avg now, the overall will increase into top 10, top 5, etc. as we move forward and hopefully the staff continues this trajectory. The prior staffs have been relegated to taking numbers over quality because of laziness, whiffs, etc. That means our talent was less. This approach is different.

I don't think you'll find anyone on here that is content with staying at #12 etc. But Napier went from #19 to #12. I guess I know deep down this is a big dumpster fire and can't expect it to come so fast. But I do want it to. Many have asked for improvement and it appears that way. More 4*'s, better avg, etc. And when they Change Rashada to his 5* and so on.

Don't get me wrong, I want it now. But also know deep down, we got huge problems to overcome.

2023 Recruit Football Team Rankings

We're currently ranked 12th with the 5th best class in the SEC. This is about where we usually land. So nothing's much changed yet IMO.

Bama with 6 different 5*'s. How is this even possible anymore? What are they paying these kids? And how is Deion going to compete with that kind of loot?
Compare the 247 ratings from 2010 to now, and starting in 2015, we average 5th in the SEC.

We are at that average.

Maybe BNs evaluations are better than the prior coaches. Maybe not.

This is not, imo, a "solid" class... we are missing and "dangerously thin" at several.positions.

Solid classes cover all needs ...even if they are three stars.

Still have the portal to work and leftover HS kids till Feb 1. I hope BN can find the players to fill in the class.

This is, on paper, an average class that should, (if we fill it out) , put us ahead of SC, KY and Vandy. On Par with Tenn. A mile behind the leghumpers.

3rd in the SECE and 5th in the SEC.

My comments are about recruiting, not BNs ability to evaluate or develop.

Can't really judge until after NSD.

(I do think the DL and WR groups are solid)

I would have liked to get a couple of more guys, but under the circumstances it was a solid class, with our best quality in over 10 years. It also isn't 2005 anymore - the transfer portal has changed the game. Looking forward to see who Billy adds through the portal.

Another example of someone posting something that views everything as black and white, it's either great or it sucks. There are hundreds of other circumstances and factors now.

Billy had a better bump class than Lincoln Riley, despite USC having a good season and them owning the entire west coast. Does that add any perspective at all?
Under the circumstances? You mean circumstances like:
$90MM facility we were told would be the game changer
New luxorious housing
Head coach billed as an ace recruiter
Huge support staff including Georgia Ace Katie Turner
Unbelievable hospitality on official visits
Gator Collective & Gator Guard/Hugh Hathcock
Huge staff that analyzed every roster for potential future portal finds

Then why did Billy go after McClain hard?
