Sober up.
Says the guy that guaranteed Oz and Walker were locks?

Sorry, but you can’t just look the other way on everything and expect it to be fine, you’re swimming up stream here and calling everyone with concerns drunk ain’t the answer. If Mertz, Rashada, Miller and a walk-on are filling next years QB room, you mind as well just skip watching the season.

Ox has tried to explain it. If he answered anything seriously, it would just generate more yada.. yada.. So, he says things like that.

Dam we certainly do not need more yada yada here. It's much better to hear sober up.

At some point, in some of these cases, it’s not even about not being talented enough to be here. These guys are just not buying in mentally to the change. And I I think unless we were content to continue with what we had under Dan Mullen, we almost have to be OK with this.

I also think that Napier did a good job of not allowing this mass exodus last year. He obviously pushed but didn’t push too hard and to make sure we didn’t lose all these guys then. At this point, we’ll have two cycles, one full cycle, of his guys by the time we hit fall camp. So it’s getting real(probably did during the season) and they’re not ok with it.

We are also bringing in some talent at this position at well. It may be that he doesn't want to risk being buried on the depth chart if there is another school more favorable for him to get PT.

Maybe but we need to hit the portal hard. I'm questioning that. LBs, DTs, OTs, TEs.
And if this is the new norm, let Napier continue to evaluate, build, and oversee but bring in a more strategic OC.

I liked Jordan Young a lot. Made a ton of plays in the Spring Game and flashed when he got PT (including blocking the FG vs OSU).

Oh well, trust the process I guess

Yep. Not sure what’s going on as far as us not bringing much in yet.

I suspect it is such a different model than recruiting HS soph/ jr/ sr kids. They have time to look at media, meet the parents, interview the kid/ his coaches, trainers etc. Portal names appear at random and unless they had evaluated the player in HS they are starting from scratch.. BN to date has shown he will follow the defined process which takes time. Last seasons portal haul was skewed by bringing Torrence, the other lineman and Johnson from his previous stop. His process is deliberate, portal activity is fast and furious.

I’ll save you the suspense of next season right now - we aren’t winning any championships. I just saved you a ton of angst.

He brought the Gatorade out to the players during time outs with the most authority I’ve seen in years. It’s a loss.

Trust is earned. I’m sure you watched the games. I’ll believe they know what they are doing(at a high level), when it shows on the field. I think we look back and find they let too many good players leave due to an expectation they would land a larger class then have the portal to work. Now they have no choice but to work the portal. The presumption is the players that left were not good enough to play SEC ball, but that their portal transfers will be.
