Looks like criticism was overwhelming. Collective will look for someone else to lead it.

Is this good or bad?
IMO, it's not good but it ain't bad either. I recognize that we are falling behind in the arms race for 5 star 18 year old athletes but it turns my stomach thinking about paying these ungrateful 18 year old athletes hundreds of thousands of dollars to play football at the University of Florida.

NIL is stupid and I hate what has become of my collegiate sport of choice.

I love NIL. Pay them. No reason they shouldn’t be paid. I just think conferences need to set their own caps. Or divisions (like FBS or FCS) set their own caps with a governing body.

Free market baby!

I think it’s good. He was needed to start it. He put his own money in it to get it going. But that doesn’t mean he’s the right guy to lead it. I just don’t think he had the charisma or the ability to rally benefactors to make this happen successfully.

I’m confused. On the one hand, you say there should be caps; on the other you celebrate the free market. Which is it? Shouldn’t a free market mean no caps?

Should players pay for scholarships and all their meals and gear, etc.?

Interested to hear some thoughts on this now that they’re being paid openly

Are all these athletes considered 1099-Misc and taxed accordingly as independent contractors? Do you know the ins and outs of it? I mean, we now have a valuation chart we have to keep in mind when recruiting. Does the University get the write offs of hiring these independent contractors?

Scholarship, books, and room and board should be the minimum. Some of the money should go into a stipend pool so everybody benefits at least a little. NIL isn't going to do jack for most of the players otherwise.

Just like what's wrong with this country and the out of control spending (and graft) it's easy to say your point of view knowing you've probably contributed zero dollars to the collective AND know that your cavalier attitude will not hold you accountable.

I do think they should pay for the finer things UF provides BUT no school will enact that so then UF should continue to lose money on football.

- It funds other sports.
- We lose money playing irrelevant bowl games.
- I love playing in TWLOCP but we miss out on a home game every other year.

The list goes on but you get the idea.

Not sure why you made it personal dîck. Not surprising though. Jackass.

I have no idea. But I’d assume 1099.

Also I don’t think the university can pay at all. So they wouldn’t have any write offs.
