The cardiologist was asked if it was wise for him to resume his career. The doc said that the hit to his chest was a one in a bazillion type of play - he’s good to go.
I can't imagine that you would ever play with the same intensity after going through a big event like that.
It has to be life changing and you would never tackle the same way again.

I'm speaking specifically about @TheMarylandGator and not Damar.
I’m in awe of the tragedy and apparent recovery. If he can do it, God bless him. Me, I don’t know if I could play again.

He's a kid, a very gritty one, in love with a game that pays him more money than he could ever have imagined. My money is on him returning.

He'll play again and won't be scared because it wasn't the hit that caused it. @Egor's Assistant nailed it.

I saw a video from a world renowned doctor that said there are zero recorded cases of commotio cordis in the history of the NFL.
Furthermore, a family mbr confirmed that Damar had another episode (arrest) at the hospital and reoccurring arrest does not happen with commotio cordis.

After watching the overwhelming, league-wide outpouring of support, concern, prayer, cheering etc. at every game, along with everything online and the support of his charity, I hope he and every player recognizes that people really do care.

Put me on an MLB diamond, NBA court etc. and I will show how comically I don’t belong. Glacial speed, average coordination, less “ups” than Dave Corzine. On an NFL field? I’d risk being broken in half.

I heard the same thing from a cardiologist on a recent podcast. he'd never heard of any prior to this, but did say it happens in the NHL.

HOWEVER IN THIS CASE...
He shat all over the idea that it was vax related.

Now ... let's get back on topic before this thread is either locked or sent to solitary.

Soo... hey, how about this cornball wearing a Hamlin jersey backwards.
I think we know who #3 is on the Bills by now

My point is this - whether or not this was vax related, WE WILL NEVER KNOW because it would be covered up and not released if it was. Hence, the inevitable political argument that erupts from this topic is useless and what I am trying to keep off the sports board.

It was later clarified by a family spokesman that the initial report from the uncle was incorrect and Hamlin did not require resuscitation a second time.

Meh. He either did need a 2nd resuscitation (per a family member) or he didn't (per a follow-up press inquiry and statement).

One of them could be confused, yet has no reason to lie. The other, not so much.

And the family's spokeman's reason to lie is?

I was under the impression that the family spokesperson was also the one that first reported it did happen. I didn't see where the reporter explicitly followed up versus saying that the previous report was corrected. HOW was it corrected or was it just ignored?

Maybe I read that part wrong.

Either way, I find it odd that it was once reported and then, possibly, retracted. Regardless, it's being reported that it was retracted. So it has been.

Even without that second cardiac arrest, and revival, it still does not exclusively prove that Damar's case was NOT vax "clot-shot" related as much as it does not prove it WAS comotio cordis. All we are being told is that it was a cardiac arrest. I'm glad he's better and am ready to move on.

For those that believe there is no correlation to the "clot-shot", I hope you're not trying to defend your decision to also get the shot because there is a marked increase in "suddenly died" and cardiac problems amongst the young. And it's this increase that causes me to think it's not comotio cordis. But hey, it could be the first instance of that to ever be recorded in the NFL.
