If we are really paying the 7th best QB in his class (or anybody other than the top rated prospect in the country) 13 million to come here, I'm glad the deal fell through. Why would we be giving that much money to somebody who isn't anywhere close to a guaranteed star.

Good point, good questions. Like others, waiting for answers.

To me, the real issue here is why is it happening to us. Lot’s of other teams seem to get by without a constant parade of ‘bad optics’. Is it administration mismanagement? Is it others teams playing chess with disinformation while we play checkers? I have no idea, but it has to stop.
It's simple. Two reasons:

Reason #1:

Reason #2:

Until Sasse eliminates these two cancers, little to nothing will ever change.

Exactly. :exactly:

And wonder if the top 6 will be like......wait, WTF 13M?? Hey, ummmm, we're going to re-negotiate my NIL deal. This is going to cause big issues.

Heitner is tweeting some interesting stuff, but you have to look at his replies to previous tweets to see it. Nevertheless, I wonder who this Jackson is?

I'm sure it's a number of factors, but part of me wonders if we have the worst sports journalists in college football. It seems like they are working against the program half the time, constantly spreading lies and stirring up drama that reflects badly on the team. They scream negative press from the mountaintops. You think the Alabama sports writers do anything but protect the program at all costs? They'd get strung up in trees otherwise.

Hell, the primary Gator beat writer for the Sun just wrote a piece on all the great things about UGA winning another NC. Even Dooley wouldn't have written such trash for Gator fans to read.

If a lot of this Rashada stuff turns out to be pure lies, On3 should receive a mass loss of subscribers. It's OXRAGEOUS, and people are actually paying money for it.

Was going to post this yesterday but never got around to it. They are an absolute joke. How many other teams do you hear about their beat writers spoiling a kids commitment and costing the team that recruit. Believe it happened 2 or 3 times this past cycle. Also you have the dips$it that got caught saying that he would be here way longer than Napier ever will be. If that was Satan or Shart, that fellow would have been escorted out and given a thorough beating before being told he was fired. Then you have Edgar, the gift that keeps on giving, blasting our pre-season Heisman hopeful QB getting a speeding ticket. Was it a bad look? Yes. Is it something that should have been made a big deal and blasted to the public? No, it could have and SHOULD have been handled in house.

Can't recall the exact details but when Pruitt was at Toothless, he basically came out and told the cops that he can't believe they are trying to get one of the football players in trouble because at Alabama they let this type of stuff slide all the time. We are fighting a losing battle. Other rival schools are win at all costs and we are just happy to be able to have team to put on the field.

Going to be an unpopular opinion but if the kid wants $13 mil, then deliver the money. People are losing their mind over the deal but it was discussed in other threads that we are taking the money ball approach to NIL, phucking shoot me I can't believe I just typed that. Go all in on the QB and try to budget around him. If giving him that money would lead to us winning a National Championship or bring us out of the cellar to set us up for that next step for Lagway to take, would you all be complaining about that $13 mil?

From what I've heard, the original deal was for $8 and they've asked for $5 more before striking the deal. If we are willing to give him 8, whats 5 more?

The point is, name any player that comes even remotely close to that figure.
Now name the closest freshman.

It's a ridiculous number and honestly sounds made up, 4 years or not.

Seems like some of the buzz - misinformation - came from a Canes site and ripples flowed across as “reports.” No sense getting would up with that trash.

wait, where you seeing that? If that's true......
I saw a tweet or article quoted early on in this thread from a Canes site. I’ll look for it.

Edit: I was mistaken. It was an article that was flowing with the buzz, not misinformation. That was my scUM filter working overtime.

As many have said here we have plenty of rumors but little facts. To add to the rumors I have read that the "glitch" is a 300K commission supposedly owed to Darren Heitner , who helped negotiate the deal. Heitner apparently was representing the Collective and not Rashada. The unsubstantiated rumor said that the fee was written into Heitner's contract with the Collective and was approved by the former CEO. Now the new Collective decision makers do not want to pay the fee and the contract is being held up. Also I have seen posts on this Board that Napier and or Striklin need to get involved. From what I read on the State's NIL law all negotiations must be handled by an independent third party (The Collective) and not UF. This probably explains the lack of comment from UF.
Heitner has been represented as a subject matter expert on the NIL program and it's guidelines. We have to assume that if he was involved in the contract he likely knows what he is doing. Also as a Gator alum his best interests would seem to line up with the Collective's goals.

The issue hasn’t been on3 beat writers. It’s been on3 national writers.
why are you saying that to me?

I agree about the national writers....that sit in Ohio
