As many have said here we have plenty of rumors but little facts. To add to the rumors I have read that the "glitch" is a 300K commission supposedly owed to Darren Heitner , who helped negotiate the deal. Heitner apparently was representing the Collective and not Rashada. The unsubstantiated rumor said that the fee was written into Heitner's contract with the Collective and was approved by the former CEO. Now the new Collective decision makers do not want to pay the fee and the contract is being held up. Also I have seen posts on this Board that Napier and or Striklin need to get involved. From what I read on the State's NIL law all negotiations must be handled by an independent third party (The Collective) and not UF. This probably explains the lack of comment from UF.
Heitner has been represented as a subject matter expert on the NIL program and it's guidelines. We have to assume that if he was involved in the contract he likely knows what he is doing. Also as a Gator alum his best interests would seem to line up with the Collective's goals.
Heitner has already come out and refuted that. He said he did not write the contract and is not getting paid anything on it.

That last sentence isn't necessarily true, at all. I think it's right in his twitter profile that he teaches NIL at Miami's law school.

if it was based on revenue that the UAA gets, you could see these crazy deals. now its people giving money to kids not associated with UF, how many commercials and crap would have to be done to get an ROI on 6 figs? let alone 7 figures. i doubt many expect a return back but to give millions each year and get not much in return doesnt make much sense.

Thanks for the clarification. I saw that he stated that he did not represent Rashada, but missed his statement of not working with the Collective.

Can we just stop all this garbage already. We’re two seasons in and I’m completely done. Look no further than Denson to see that many of these kids don’t care about this stupidity and are choosing things based on the long term. We’re not winning any championships anyways. Just go back to players who want to be here and turn off the other nonsense. Doesn’t seem to matter any more.

Seriously screw this kid and how this has all played out. You’re getting paid regardlesss and this is just a short stint until the real payday. If it’s strictly business, I want no part. Stay in Cali and get bent. Over this **** and every moron that thought this was even remotely a good or justifiable move for college athletics. I’m so over the amateur hour mindset of “oh, guess we hadn’t considered that” that we’ve seen infest society. If you didn’t then kindly stop giving opinions on real world issues. They do arts and crafts in Wednesdays. Stick to that. This was always destined to end in disaster to rectify the handful of cases annually of a player who saw his jersey in the stands and didn’t get paid at all.

How do you really feel though?

He lives in South Florida and has been a member of the faculty at UF and UM. Education profile, BA 2007 UF , JD UF 2010.

There are thousands of students every year who do well in school, help their communities, and will be productive members of society who are turned down to attend this same university and these primadonnas profane the integrity of the same university all because they can play a game well.
I started saying back in the 1990's it should be something like this.....

NO scholarships for Football Players. Ever. Give them to some deserving students.

They have 4 years eligibility and 4 years to stay on campus, rent free, free meal passes, they can and are encouraged to go to class and get a degree for free, but not required. Must attend at least 2 or 3 hours of some kind of classes a day, no academic requirement.

They should get a reasonable allowance, say $1500-2000 a month since they should spend most of their time training and practicing and studying, not leaving a lot of time for work/job.

They should get small bonuses for achieving a set number of wins, Division titles, Conference titles, Bowl wins, say 3-4K for each, maybe a 6-8K bonus for winning a NC.

Any felony is a termination of agreement and any 2 minor infractions or breaking team rules is an automatic out. Players are free to leave or transfer but must sit out a season. Can declare for NFL after 2 seasons.

Was going to post this yesterday but never got around to it. They are an absolute joke. How many other teams do you hear about their beat writers spoiling a kids commitment and costing the team that recruit. Believe it happened 2 or 3 times this past cycle. Also you have the dips$it that got caught saying that he would be here way longer than Napier ever will be. If that was Satan or Shart, that fellow would have been escorted out and given a thorough beating before being told he was fired. Then you have Edgar, the gift that keeps on giving, blasting our pre-season Heisman hopeful QB getting a speeding ticket. Was it a bad look? Yes. Is it something that should have been made a big deal and blasted to the public? No, it could have and SHOULD have been handled in house.

Can't recall the exact details but when Pruitt was at Toothless, he basically came out and told the cops that he can't believe they are trying to get one of the football players in trouble because at Alabama they let this type of stuff slide all the time. We are fighting a losing battle. Other rival schools are win at all costs and we are just happy to be able to have team to put on the field.

Going to be an unpopular opinion but if the kid wants $13 mil, then deliver the money. People are losing their mind over the deal but it was discussed in other threads that we are taking the money ball approach to NIL, phucking shoot me I can't believe I just typed that. Go all in on the QB and try to budget around him. If giving him that money would lead to us winning a National Championship or bring us out of the cellar to set us up for that next step for Lagway to take, would you all be complaining about that $13 mil?

From what I've heard, the original deal was for $8 and they've asked for $5 more before striking the deal. If we are willing to give him 8, whats 5 more?

On the subject of our media personnel being the worst, I have a few thoughts. Local sports media personnel will inherently have a significant bias and be fan's of the sport and team. There may be a few outliers but in general this is the case. The main reason media covering bama and dwags and ohio state wear kid gloves and run cover for periodic misgivings is because the product on the field is one they like and want to protect/sustain. The beat writers dont want shart or day to get bad press b/c they are winning. The Tennessee example was used when the last idiot was HC there. That guy sucked and they couldn't win squat, so yeah when it was revealed he was involved in some egregious stuff they put it out there. But ask yourself this, has there been any bad press about Tennessee since Heupel arrived? it's all the same guys writing articles. Do we really think hes a saint, or is it b/c everyone finally likes the product on the field? You want negative local press to stop? Start freaking winning. Weve been an absolute LOSER for going on 15 years now. What are the beat writers supposed to say? Everything is wonderful? Well, dooley did that for years, and we all hated his guts b/c it was total BS. Now all of a sudden its unfair and out of bounds? I really dont care either way, but for those of you that think this isnt directly linked to winning, i got some water front property in new mexico id like to sell you. It's real nice.

Perhaps you should have said RE-breaking news b/c it has been so long. That was breaking news over 20 years ago, circa GSMB. Hence my FOOLEY screen name.

Oh c'mon man where would Gator football be without the likes of Moody, Ropo, Josh Shaw, Chris Martin, Steele and the others who either didn't even play, make it on campus, or sucked so bad I can't remember their names? :lol2:
