It would take a big pay check and the right circumstance. Like the Falcons, who aren't exactly lighting it up under Arthur Smith.

When will the day come where other fans eagerly anticipate the chance of our coach leaving? They're all out there openly rooting for him to stay.
This got 2 likes, and I knew who the two people were before I even clicked on it.

I assumed Durty got laid a lot, but maybe that was an incorrect assumption. I'm confident gardner hasn't gotten anything in years.

As for 78's silly point, GATOR FANS were openly rooting for Kirby Smart to stay after his first couple of years, remember that? We laughed at the guy and his mediocre product.

Now, now, now. I could have been referring to any of the clowns who came after Meyer. I wasn't necessarily pointing at your boy.

Judging by this thread, though, I'd say our fans would be more than happy to help provide Smart with accommodations out of Athens.

The potential silver lining is Smart isn't a fixer either. He's a builder. It took him a few years to get it going. Maybe there's still hope for us.

Give it another 16 years. I'm told these things take time to do it right.

Why should they? A good number of our own fans are doing that well enough right now? I get what you are saying and why. But I believe that in addition to that great coach we all yearn for, there’s got to be a roster in place that can win big. I don’t believe last season’s roster was capable. Not dead certain Billy will ever be the guy for a segment of our fan base, but he’s working on the roster part. Of course, it would help if there was a formula in place for the NIL to help the recruiting and maybe it will be someday soon.

My personal feeling is that we’ve done enough resetting with the coaching. Let’s see what Billy does these next two years and go from there. But in the meantime, if we’ve just got to reset, let’s start at the top with the athletic admin and work down. Seems like there’s a lot of eyeballing that needs doing in that direction.

Sasse needs to fire Stricklin and trespass Foley from all UF properties.

You dummies keep saying the same thing. NFL coaches make more money.

No they don’t. McVay is an exception. But the top tier of coaches probably average slightly more than NFL.

From NBC Sports:

"Believe it or not, the highest-paid NFL and college coaches are paid very similarly. The salary discrepancies between the two leagues can mainly be seen when you take a look at the average compensations.

The average NFL head coach's salary is $6.692 million, while the average college football compensation for the 108 NCAA I coaches is $1.75 million."

You have a problem with us liking the idea of having an HC who all rivals are hoping will leave for the NFL?

As for the assumption, ask your mom

If we are looking at average compensation it needs to be compared against only the top tier programs. Like noted in the first paragraph the price paid the top tier is very similar.

True - I believe it took ALL 108 salaries into consideration.

Yeah. Top tier of coaches make about the same.

The average will be of course skewed. There’s 108 of them. The Tulsa coach isn’t going to be making NFL money.

That's because they don't have themselves a Stricklin.
