While I'm not excited about the new DC, I'm going to reserve my criticism until after the season. It does seem risky, but I get the positives. Worked under and learned from Kirby for a year, has a couple years experience as a coordinator, already has a good working relationship with Napier, and probably has some really good qualities if Saban wanted him for a position coach and Napier is willing to roll the dice with this. I'm surprised he's not a co-dc with someone. Hope it works out.
Noted: have placed in the "will likely bitch" category.

Disclaimer: there is only a "will likely bitch" category when one "reserves judgment"... there will be no future opportunity for individual to be placed in a "great hire!" category. Hope is not a method.

This is not an attempt to draw law/swampdonkey out of retirement, but I would have been fine with side hat. I believe he was the DC the last time we got off the field on 3rd down. He had mediocre/butters talent when he did it. There's always the chance this guy will be lights out. Lets hope!

Have you caught on to the irony that you're just bitching about people bitching?

My bad for expecting someone at a top-10 job in college football to have more than 2 years of experience, you keep doing you though.

Your expectation is as ridiculous as me expecting Florida to hire a basketball coach with real experience.
Clearly we both know nothing about the way Florida athletics goes to market these days.

UPDATE: I texted Law. His response was: "Sidehat is ass"

Sunbelt level hire to replace the prior Sunbelt level hire. Maybe we’ll stop slummin’ by the dawn of the 2030’s. Fingers crossed.
